Hello, sorry for the late reply, I had a full plate during easter because some friends were visiting! So what happens at the end is that Edward told Bella how the dhampirs are not liked by the vampires. The Volturi wants to destroy them because they're seen as a threat to the vampires. Edward made a deal with the dhampirs - he will protect them when he reclaims his position in return for their help in retrieving the hostages :) Thanks for your regular reviews, I really appreciate them!

I'm glad that E&B finally confirmed their love for each other. It's about time! Lol I only wonder if Edward realizes that she's his mate? Surely he does, since he's ancient. However, I do have some doubts that she truly is his mate because WHY didn't he realize that from the beginning? Why kiss other women in front of her, or not act jealous or possessive when Jacob came barging in his house naked? Don't vamps recognize their mates instantly? What did E think of B when he had met her before in the past, when she was still with Jacob? Has E ever had a mate or significant other before, since he's so old?
I'm just wondering all of this because Bella's already been burned & hurt horribly by one supernatural being's imprinting. If Edward would or could confirm to her that she's his mate, & that she's it for him, THE ONE, then I think that would do wonders for Bella or any insecurities or uncertanties she may have.
I also wonder why B&E haven't had sex yet? And if they do, will there be any hybrid babies? I hope so! Lol :)
Also, why doesn't E have much money? You'd think with him being ancient & being who he is - basically one of the original vampires & one that's like a king, that he'd have money or access to money & resources. I just find that odd. I also think that he needs to tell Bella everything about his past.

Hello! Wow, thank you for your detailed review, you have asked some really excellent questions.
In this AU, I made it such that the 'mate' isn't always someone destined to be with the vampire, but that the vampire has a certain amount of choice over who s/he chooses to be his/her mate. So it's very much like humans - people can fall in love at first sight, or slowly. The only difference is that vampires can only fall in love once, and then they're irrevocably changed (I followed canon for this). As for your other questions, the answers will be revealed as the story progresses. You're definitely spot-on when you say that relationships are a bit of a sore spot with Bella. She is fully aware though, that vampires can fall in love only once, and in Chapter 15, she knows that Edward loves her :-)
B&E's coupling will take place in Chapter 19 ;-) Hope you'll like it! As for hybrid babies, we shall see! No spoilers ;-)
Oh yes, to answer your last question, Edward doesn't have much money because he works mostly odd jobs here and there that don't pay too much. I also imagine that the wealth the Volturi accumulates are mostly by theft, and now that Edward has renounced his position he doesn't really have much of a share.

Bella is getting a little more taste of the world of BDSM with edward. Bella, must be feeling more freedom then she did in La Push and Forks. Even with the vampires coming after bella especially founding out a little bit about her mother. I have agree with bella her and edward are more alike then she thought, both felt like prisoners edward gets live forever and bella had so much happen to her first with James and Jacob imprinting on her best friend on her wedding day. I think jacob,nessie,her father,and the wolves were wrong with keeping her there I understand they don't want her to kill herself, but they could have done something different to help her. I agree edward did the right about not killing bella taking her away from the pain. I have a feeling if bella ever see her dad Charlie, nessie, and jacob she going have to be opened with them about everything she being feeling. Even if bella forgive jacob and nessie I don't think bella will ever be as close them as she was once before.

He said in one of the previous updates that he has killed much in the past that he now prefers donations, so what he afraid of? And he's running, I have the impression that he is running away from something or something.
