I'm so glad Bella stood up to Charlie. I was so sick of that poor girl being treated like the cook/maid instead of a daughter. That's what Charlie wanted, was for Bella to always be around to cook and clean for his sorry ass, like she was his wife instead of daughter. Hell, he had a good thing and he didn't care about her happiness one bit, as long as he was able to go do his thing and have his dinner on the table when he walked in the door. It reminds me a little too much of my so called childhood.
I just hope that Bella truly loves Edward and not what Edward represents. I don't think he could handle getting his heart broken again because he really loves Bella and she has never had a chance to be a teenager. I just hope his original thoughts about her needing time and space before they could be together don't come to pass. That would be heartbreaking.

I completely go out at all hours of the day/night for ice cream. Why, just as i was reading this chapter, my mother wanted to steal the computer for me (at 11pm) and i said "sure, i want to go and get some icecream anyway". I know this isn't the end, so i won't treat it as such. Renee is poo and i am glad she went back to Florida. Did she actually explain to Charlie about Phil? I would love to hear Charlie's reaction to that conversation!
I am interested to see how this arrangement will work, and how you will now structure the story with 2 different cities. I would imagine there won't be as much conflict with Edward and other characters, but i will have to read on to see...
