This sounds like such a familiar story; much like my first year of marriage.  It was very well written.

Author's Response:

Hi,

yeah, I think a lot of us have an adjustment period to go through during that famous first year, whether we're married at the time or just living in sin. It's hard to combine two very opposite personalities, like in this story, with two different sets of expectations and find a balance.

Of course, in this particular case, Edward labored under a very false assumption, that his parents' marriage was a happy one and an ideal to be obtained with his own, whereas Bella thought that behaving in the same way as her parents would work for her own marriage. Both of them needed this wake-up call, I think, to figure out that marriage, like any relationship, requires compromise and accepting the other's flaws.

Thank you for reading and especially for leaving a review. We don't seem to get too many of those, unfortunately.

That was amazing!.. I almost wish that you would continue the story but I think the part where you left it at was really good. Awesome job!

For some reason it seems we weren't notified that you sent a review...strange...anyway, thanks for reading and especially reviewing.  This O/S is complete, but we have written several other stories...hope you'll check them out as well.  Thanks again!

Back again. :0)

I love Pink. Her songs a great source of inspiration and mood. Can't wait to see what you do with this song.

"He thought about cleaning up the mess on the floor but then decided against it. Let her see the devastation she had caused" I'm going to call this the metaphor for their life right now. He sees something is broken, but will he do anything about it? No. Let her find it for herself. I think communication is what most of us lack in relationships like this. Talking, not making noise without listening, but real talking needs to happen. Maybe she wouldn't feel frustrated if he told her more than just whined back. And maybe she would be more appreciative if she got whatever it was she felt she was missing with him too.

Surprisingly enough, I'm not pissed at this Bella- yet. I tend to be uptight about things myself. Having someone roll their eyes at me when I point out what I want only makes me yell too. ;0) I guess really, what I mean is I can't lay all blame on her. Two people say I do. I don't see Edward abused so much as... silent. You know? I don't believe he talks to his wife. As I'm very certain she does not talk to him. This is a two lane street we're heading down now.

I can already tell Edward holds his parents up to some unrealistic expectation. Just because you don't see it in your face everyday does not mean there are not problems. I have a feeling he'll be seeing a different side to his parents now that he is older and married himself.

I like this. Not that they fight so much, but that makes them a real couple. They feel very authentic in this. Their needs and frustrations very real. And their lack of understanding in each other very true to life.

Frankly Bella... he don't give a damn. ;0P

I like the time they spend apart. Like that we find out that Edward's so called "perfect" family was far from it. It's obvious that these two have a long way to go still in really making this work but they have open eyes now and that is really what life is all about. Passion=fighting. But love=a desire to make up.

Loved it!!! Good luck on the contest!!!
