I just started this little fic and I absolutely love it. I a nervous about James though- not that I think he would hurt Bella again; more that she might fall for him again- that wouldn't be good. Edward cracks me up... he's so convinced that Bella isn't his type, and that they could probably just be friends... Ya, you keep telling yourself that, Buddy! ;) I am really surprised that Bella didn't tell Alice & Emmett about running into James. I also have to wonder how much time there was between chapters 16 & 17... Bella seemed to obviously know Rose and Rose her- which would mean that the beautiful woman Emmett was with at the restaurant that night must have been Rose and that he's obviously continued seeing her and it's been long enough to meet his friends. However, Bella still doesn't seem to know that Edward is Emmett and Alice's brother... Do they just never talk about him?

This is rather fascinating. I didn't expect to be so enthralled. I like that Bella has relationships with the other Cullens that are independent of anything between her and Edward. And even though James seems really repentent right now, he scares me to death anytime he's close to Bella. It's just impossible for me to forget how violent his final attack was. I don't blame Bella for being skittish, even with Edward.

Hmmm... You've definitely got me wondering on this whole thing. I'm assuming James isn't going to be all regretful and asking her to forgive him and that he hasn't really changed. Wonder if he's going to cause trouble for her, or become violent again? I'm pretty sure she shouldn't trust him. He definitely shouldn't have approached her, not after what he did to her. I just hope she doesn't let him back into her life.
As for the mysterious Mrs. Shaeffer, well, I haven't figured that one out at all. It's definitely possible she's just being nice to a little old lady, but there's obviously more to it than that, right?! Will have to think about that as I wait patiently for another chapter to be posted. Hope it's soon, though, cuz I'm getting very curious about where this all is going...
