Is it truly better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all? Sometimes I wonder. The mind bounces between the pain of loneliness and the pain of loss. Two very different types of desperation. With very different lessons experienced.
Carlisle is an endearing Daddy figure. I hope he is able to find his true match some day.
Edward did the right thing by taking the time to explain his need to participate on the specialized trauma team. Bella now knows she is still important to him but work may come first at times.

This chapter was a great surprise. I wasn't sure how they might meet and how you would set the stage for them. Bella is a more interesting and intriguing choice for him than the Mckennas of the club. Both her beauty and lifestyle introduces him to an approach he didn't realize he had an interest in. But her intelligence was unexpected and clearly welcome. Kind of put the shoe on the other foot.
