It would be cruel for Carlisle to tell Edward his choice was to help someone who could actually be helped as opposed to someone who was already gone and beyond his help! The fact that Edward accepted his love in the end means Edward understands, on some deep level, that someone's life was on the line.
I wonder if Bella will recognize the beautiful woman with the red hair and green eyes if...well, when she sees a photograph of her!

This is a story near and dear to my heart. It is so hard reading about these things but they are so real. You've brought this story together nicely. My sister has been on the list for a double lung transplant for 5 years which was hard for us in the beginning. We since learned that there are people out there that donate organs for pure and wonderful reasons. She received a call a few weeks ago for the transplant but it didn't work as they planed but she is really ok with it. Thanks for writing such a beautiful story with such a traggic suituation.
