This might be my first review ever and I read a lot of fanfiction. That being said, I felt compelled to send this message. I wouldn't begin to "review" as I am not in the least qualified. Several chapters in, I honestly wondered if I had the stomach to finish your story. This would have been a second if in fact I did abandon the story, and again, I read alot of stories so that should say a lot. I am so glad I stayed with it. Although the subject matter was very uncomfortable, the overall story was well written and redeeming. Thank you for writing something that got such an emotional reaction from me.
Additionally, although I would love a sequel as I was not ready to let these characters go, I do believe you ended the story well and was left as it should be.

Thank you. I know the whole premise of TPW is hard to read and the beginning is graphic and horrific. I couldn't think of any other way though to realistically show Edward as the "lesser of evils" between him and what she went through with Charlie & James. I had to show Edward was nobody's hero, but at least he was a better option when she had none. Domestic violence has two sides; the abused and the abuser. It in no way is meant to justify the actions of the abuser, but often we forget they were also once the abused. What they choose to do with that experience is what makes the difference. Do they continue the cycle of abuse or do they break the chains and take a stand?
My father and his mother and siblings were abused by my grandfather when he was growing up. He wasn't much better to my mom when they married until he made the decision to stop the cycle. They have been married 44 years and 31 of those have been violence free.There has been no violence in my own marriage of 28 years.
I have started Alice/Jasper's story from TPW, but it's on hold right now. I's only 6 chapters so far. I'll pick it back up in a few months. I have a lot on my plate right now between rl, working on my third novel and I'm determined to finish Creating a Mate before anything else.

Great chapter. God Carlisle is a PIG! Love how Emmett has changed - awesome for Rose. Bella is fortunate to have the girls to show her how not to completely lose herself in the onslaught of everything that's happened. It's not the ideal solution, but they've learned after years of living this abuse that if you can't get out, then you have to find something to hang onto so you don't lose your sanity.
Edward has a lifetime of messed up wiring in his brain from being Carlisle's son to overcome if he's ever going to be the man Bella deserves. Change comes slowly and he's going to stumble and fall along the way. As long as he gets back up and keeps learning, eventually he might figure it out.

Thank you for reading my story. Charlie didn't want Esme for herself, but as a way to have something that was Carlisle's. In his twisted mind it elevated him that Carlisle would share Esme with him. Carlisle cared nothing for Esme and hoped that by sharing her, Charlie would return the favor and agree to share Renee with him. Charlie never did though. He knew Carlisle wanted her so it gave him power in his mind. It's why he was so quick to offer Bella.

it sounded like carlisle never even really wanted to marry esme in the first place, but what made her stick out to him as someone he would marry?

First I want to say that I really like this story and it has me reading into the middle of the night..lol...
I just finished chapter 15 and I have two questions so far. First, I was wondering why Bella hasn't tried to escape or contact someone. I know that she said she doesn't have anywhere to go, but she wasn't abused and was educated so I would think that she would know that foster care or a group home would most likely be better than being tied nude to her kitchen table and raped by her brother.
My other question is why is Edward waiting until Bella is 18 to have sex (rape) her. I mean the fact that he purchased her, has her captive in his house, was an adult witnessing physical and sexual abuse of a minor and didn't report it, would all be much worse crimes.
Don't get me wrong, I love the story and I don't look for realism in my fan fiction, but I just wondered why he drew the line there... anyway, thanks for writing this story :)

Thank you for giving TPW a shot. I'm glad you like it. In answer to your questions. Bella has been sheltered most of her life and just had her parents die tragically. She's been ripped away from the life she knows and people she loves. Her mindset is already a wreck. Charlie & James are basically 'kicking her while she's already down' so she doesn't even get a single moment to 'regroup' or catch her breath before they start in on her. She has also been under constant guard. She isn't given the opportunity to run or ask for help. Also if she did ask for help, she's pointing her finger at the chief of police and chief of staff at the hospital - two of the most highly respected members of the community. They've got her convinced no one would believe her.
As for waiting til she's 18 and they marry is the Cullen's twisted sense of morality. Edward has his own reputation to build at the hospital and in the community. It would be frown upon for him to marry someone still in high school or a drop out. It has nothing to do with "what's right or wrong" just what looks good to the outside world.

Great chapter, but I'm a bit confused. Edward said to Jasper and Alice he didn't punished Bella since the first time. But as we see in his recollection he punished her a few times, by spanking her with her hand and one time with paddle.

I have changed the characters and how the story came about so much in the novel that it is completely original other than following the concept of TPW, that I could continue to do more with TPW and not step on the novel's 'toes'. I will probably do a few o/s or short stories for Renee, Esme, Rosalie and finish Alice's story.

Thanks for the compliment. I had to change beta's 3 or 4 times before the story was finished. It was pulled from ffn due to the first 10 chapters. It went beyond what ffn had in mind for M rating.
I have written a novel loosely based on the concept of TPW which will be released this summer. It follows the concept of TPW but everything about it is completely original and new. I hope you'll give it a try when it comes out.

When I started reasing this fic it was pure misery. The furter I got into it, the more difficult it was to read. How things got progressivly more and more twisted was mind-blowing and fairly disgusting. When I noticed how many chapters there were, I wondered and almost feared how someone could write so much disturbing fiction. Im glad to say it worked out well in the end, but what a gut wrenching journey! Fantastic story, miserable, perverse, gut-wrenching...but, fantastic none the less. Thank you.

Darkness of Perfection is loosely based on TPW concept (without the graphic or incest).

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I always get nervous when anyone new starts this story because the beginning is so horrific. But how else can I show Edward as the lesser of evils at that point even though he isn't much better than the others at that point? I had to make the reader "prefer" Edward even though they hated him with just as much passion as the rest so that sliver of possibility existed to give him a chance to redeem himself later.

I first started this story when it was on fanfiction. then my computer crashed on me and it took a few months to save to get a new one in that time it was pulled from that site for what ever reason (my guess is that the ppl running it didnt approve of the subject matter) while i dont agree with the inscet or slavery aspect its still a great story that you told. it took me a while to find it again and a lot og googleing cause i couldnt remember the title at first just bits and pieces of the plot. i think that you were very brave to broach this subject. THANK YOU for the time and effort it took, it must have been difficult to write. I know that this review is a bout a year or do over due but i wanted to let you know that i found and finished this story, it was one that i actually reivewed each chapter on while on ff. but i digress thank you for the story and hard work again-Buffy

It took me 26 hours to read this story. I literally stayed up last night until I was reading with one eye half open. I couldn't stop. Beautiful. Amazing. Perfect. Wonderful. There are so many other words to describe this, but I don't think they let you use that many characters.
I loved this story so much, though. I truly enjoyed reading it. It's one of those stories that you read again and again because it's just that good.

okay....I tried I really really tried and am amazed I have gotten this far! But this chapter broke my spirit and my heart.
How this story can be most read I have no idea...this reader is giving up at this chapter.
You are a great writer don't doubt that because you have me so emotionally fucked up right now I can't see straight.
Possesiveward is one thing...This is just...there are no words..and I am glad you have a following of fans but I apologize with all my heart that for this fic I just can't be one of them.
What saddens me the most is I can't erase it as much as I wished now I had stopped with the abuse and Charlie I kept thinking the whole time Edward would save her. I didn't in any way expect Edward to be just like Charlie. I quit the minute she was reminded of James. I am done!
God I need to go find the sappiest story ever and erase this scene!
If you write anything other than Dark I would love to read it...seriously you are a great writer...

Thank you for attempting to read TPW. I know it's a hard story to get thru. I promise all the women have a happy ending.
TPW is the darkest story I've written. It was my first attempt at writing and really went all out on darkness. I've back off quite a bit since then. LOMO is dark, but not nearly this dark.
You would probably enjoy my story Creating a Mate. I started it for my teen daughter so it's more fluff than dark. I do like angsty stories best so everything I write will have some angst, but not to the level of TPW. I hope you'll try CAM and let me know what you think.
