Bella needs to stop pushing her family away. She needs to realize that the Cullens are her family. They are the ones who love her and who raised her. Like every other adopted child, she has another family who are blood related. If she chooses, she can have them in her life like aunts, uncles and cousins. They will never be like the Cullens because they don't share the same life story. She was raised as a Cullen. Yes, she was taken tragically, but the end result is the same. She is the adopted child of the Cullens. She is no longer a Swan. Her brothers are Jasper and Emmett. Her parents are Esme and Carlisle. This fact will not change. Bella will go crazy trying to figure out why she was stolen or how she ended up at Carlisle hospital. In the big picture it doesn't matter. Bella just needs to decide if she wants the Swans in her life. Bella is making more out of it. She will never not be a Cullen.

I think Bella's reaction to Garrett at the end of the chapter was really realistic. Afterall, teenagers without all of Bella's past tragedy struggle with the "who am I" question. I can't imagine how hard this is for her.
There are some legitimate questions. If Tanya sent her picture to every police station for two years AND the Swans were actively trying to find their daughter, how in the world did those ships cross in the night?
I think Charlie and Renee need to back off a little. I realize Renee's reaction to Bella going stiff at her hug was hard, but it was Renee's crying that caused Bella's feelings. If Renee wants to do what's right by her daughter, she needs to get a grip. As hard as it is, all parents ultimately have to let what they love (their children) go free. While Charlie and Renee's situation is unique, in the end they'll have to let Bella have some freedom. Only then will she accept the idea that maybe she can "have it all." It's happened for other adopted children who have birth families and adopted families. Charlie and Renee are the ones complicating this situation.

Thank you, but there is progression. The Bella ten chapters ago would not be sharing her feelings with her family. she would't have sat in that coffee shop and talked with Renee. She never would have let Emmett comfort her. She's asking questions, questions she wasn't prepared to get to ask and she's trying. It just can't be rushed. I know she'd depressed and whiny but she's a teenager who has had her entire life altered. She can't just bounce back to being Happy Bella, especially when there were always those questions lingering under the surface.
