This chapter had all these emotions of fight or flight, or choosing not to feel rather than risk rejection swirling about. Bella is functional, dysfunctional little girl. Curiousity is the first crack of emotions Bella is experiencing. This was lovely.

It's interesting to see how they interact on almost a daily basis without say much yet each day says quite a bit. I think his consistent time with her will cause her to eventually learn to open up. Let down her armor a bit and perhaps even let him in. He'll of course need to do the same.
The pacing of the story is exactly as it should be in order for them to deal with all that has happened.

I love the development of this story and how each chapter reveals a bit more about the characters and what made them the way they are. I was not expecting Charlie to be a suicide, much less that Bella is the one that found him. Now if I could just figure out what the heck is going on with Edward's story. This is one of the best stories I have read on TWC so far. I admit I am dying to know what happened to Edward and get anxious when I am nearly done reading the new chapter. It is too good to end.
I like the realistic pace this story has. I wish RL would allow you to post more often but hey beggars like me can't be choosers, right? :)
These last 2 chapters gave us a lot of insight to both characters. i thought I had figured Bella out a bit but that part with Charlie took me by suprise. She is more damaged than I would have imagined. I know it sounds cliche but all she needs is love...seriously. She is waaaay overdue.
One of the best and most powerful moments in this chapter were when he is trying to thank her " My leaving wasn't me taking that for granted. I appreciate what you did...how you helped me. And that's all I did with it." Wonderfully written.
Also, the ending of the chapter with her laughing was very well timed. There is still hope for them to laugh together it seems. This is a huge development.
I am a bit apprehensive about the time when Edward realises that Bella was very inexperienced in regards to sex when she agreed with him on the deal. It is also very significant that she has not had a sexual partner in the 5 years they have not seen each other. (I am not counting that one drunken hook up) Bella needs some serious therapy. Her low selfesteem and lack of selfworth must have prevented her from seeking help. Almost as if she thought she didn't deserve anything better...

Hmmmm...I can finally see a light at the end of their tunnel. The light may be very very small and the tunnel very very long, but I can see it none the less!!
Gosh, what Bella had to go through and Edward being the only one she ever told....THAT is significant. She is doing everything in her power to fight her feelings for him, buried deep in the recess of her subconscious.
No wonder why Renee is so catatonic...but also being very selfish. Bella lost her father, albeit an asshole of a father. And Renee is just being a selfish bitch, makes me dislike her a whole lot more now!
And Edward, gosh, it seems like he is trying so hard to stay away, and JUST CANT! And him playing with her at the end...that was unexpected, yet refreshing!

Gosh this Bella is even worse than the one SM wrote. I just do not understand her behavior. I can't get a feel on who she is as a person.
Edward. I do not even know what to say. He is all over the place. I have panic attacks, and I take medicine prescribed by my doctor when I get one. I always have that medicine with me. I also use a method that my therapist taught me. Edward's therapist should have given him medicine and ways to help him pull himself out of a panic attack. It can be done.

Holy shiz! I hope Edward's all right! I'm starting to really feel sorry for the poor bastard. Another steller chapter as always! I'm so glad I happened to log on tonight.
