I think if you as the parent are in your own home and can supervise then allowing kids to sip wine is ok. They do it in Europe (France especially) all the time. I think if we talk with our kids realistically then we can avoid behaviors that might lead to difficult situations. Oh Lexi, once again you did not disappoint. This chapter was damn funny. You mentioned a few chapters back that things were slowing down; well, gotta say, I truly enjoy these gimpses of Edward and Bella. Their little family may not be the poster child for the typical American family, but really not so dissimilar in that they are like other families--just trying to get through the day with as little stress and BS as possible (just with a little larceny thrown in). Yeah. Even with the business that Edward is in, you always manage to make Edward and Bella and the family seem normal.
I laughed uproariously at the exchange Edward, Aro and Carlisle had with Bella on the telephone. I find it ironic that men often maintain the ridiculous notion that women gossip all the time, when, in fact, men gossip as much, if not more, than women. Men just try to be more subtle, when in reality they actually have no clue to the fine art of gossiping. Anyway, love that little exchange.
I also liked the exchange between Bella and Carlisle. In fact, when you do become involved with a young, immature (who also happens to pregnant) young woman, one often finds themself getting caught up in what one could call "high school drama" . Yeah, just saying........
It is also nice to see that Edward realizes that even though he may not be around for the mundane, day to day happenings, he is still much needed to calm, and wrap the day up for his family.
I have so enjoyed QS and this sequel. I believe this will always be my favorite portrayal of Edward and Bella. I have insisted to several friends (that now seem to be as addicted to FF as I am) that Quiet Storm, Weather the Storm, and, of course, Eye of the Storm are absolute must reads!!
