Great story. Very well written. I can really picture the 1930's dust bowl in OK.
You know, you ould probably rework this with different names and publish this.
Its pretty clear that James killed the girl in Lenepah. Especially since he mentioned meeting someone there.
Ooh! What's going to hppen ith Bella and Edward now? I hope she's not pregnant. I will only complicte things even more.
When is he going to go to the bank in Tulsa? And didn't her mom say that she set aside money or them. I'm guessing she's going to find out she has it whwn she goes to Tulsa.

Renee did set aside money for them but it was in the suitcase under her bed -- the one that was missing when she tried to escape Phil. Where did the money go? Will Bella see any of it? Can't say for sure.......
Phil is pure evil -- you'll see how nasty he really is in Chapter 23.

My RL is kicking my butt right now -- I told my husband I will NEVER take two difficult college classes while teaching F/T ever again! My finals are this Tuesday and once they are done and over with, I plan on hunkering down in front of my computer to finish writing Chapter 21. Thank you for the Mother's Day wishes... And don't you dare apologize for being late to post! Pneumonia is nothing to take lightly. My daughter had it when she was in kindergarten and again in 1st grade. That first bout was about a month long and frankly more than scary. She lost about 15 lbs. and was on so any medications it was more than hard on her! My best advice to you is to take things slow coming back, and don't overdo things. There's only one you and your readers will understand!
Now, you just knew James was going to show up! Can Phil be far behind?! You're definatley back on track and the cliffhangers is excellent. By the way, I adore the vintage photos you add to your work!! They help enrich the story a lot - especially for the readers who have no connection to this time and how things worked then. Both my parents lived through the Depression and I have a strong knowledge of most of these details yet I find the photos marvelous in this context. Thank you for doing everything you can to make your readers experience the absolute best it can be!

I have always been fascinated by this time period and my Grandmother was the person who inspired me to write this. She is 93 years old and still going strong. She grew up in the deep South during the Great Depression and she told me the most amazing stories of how families survived this horribly difficult time.
I did a lot of research for this story. I wanted to throw in as much information/detail as I possibly could from the 1930's into each and every chapter I created. I am so glad that you have found my story and I will continue to do my best to make it as entertaining as possible.

Good chapter! I think Bella should tell her father the whole story ~ he is her Dad and a Cop. This is something that she can't solve on her own, and most of all dangerous and frightening!
Alice is hilarious! Stealing like a little klepto! I love that crazy dog Wallace! Tearing up Charlies paper! Mhm, I've got a husky named Lily who delights in all manner of newpapers and catlogues!

Is he arresting Edward? Oh and get you husband a spa pedicure and manicure. I got one for my husband a few years ago and he thought that I was on crack. But now he goes every month, without me. The girls love him at the salon and he has even gotten his uncle to go when he visits from Kansas.
I am really enjoying this story and if Charlie is arresting him, I can't wait to find out why.
