I feel obliged to disagree with one of the reviews I read that suggests Edward is 'grooming' Bella. No. Not at all. Bella is not a vulnerable child being manipulated into an abusive relationship, she is a sexually mature adult, she is not being coerced or manipulated. She is aware of the potential and consequences for a more intimate relationship and welcomes it. I think at this stage Mr Cullen isn't even attempting to seduce her, he is simply enjoying being affectionate. If Bella does not reciprocate or encourage him in some way, I doubt he would do anything further. I love your Mr Cullen.
ps I tried to submit this for Ch 11. TWCS seems to think I already have a Ch 11 review but I cant see it...

Hi - I saw those reviews about 'grooming,' too, but they didn't bother me - not at all. Edward's hard to get a read on at first, and it's easy to imagine him being a Dom who's found a potential new submissive. But I just wanted to thank you for your spot-on summation of his character (and Bella's) - I couldn't have said it better myself.

When Bella decribed how she felt as he ate the chocolate mousse off his thumb, good grief that made my heart race. You didnt say if he was looking at her (or at his thumb) as he did it, at first I thought he would be looking her straight in the eye, except that is perhaps too blatant, almost vulgar, he is so much more subtle than that. So maybe just a glance, afterwards, because even if she didn't realise until later, I have no doubt that he knew exactly what he was doing, though I don't think he was trying to seduce her, just to enjoy a moment of intimacy.
This is totally killing me - I love it to death even if I am a whimpering puddle by the end of every chapter !
