Cool story! I worked at a haunted mental hospital for awhile in Kentucky, saw and heard some strange things there. Western State...you can feel the vibe just looking at the place.

I really enjoyed this story. I found myself kind of creaped out, when Bella heard the Katy calling her and wanting to play, and the radio singing ring around the rosey...ugh, creapy! I was reading it in the early morning this morning in the house alone!
My ghost story, basically, when I was younger, late teens, early 20s, we lived with my grandmother and my Mom and I shared a room. Anytime my Mom wasn't there, I would always wake up with the feeling of being watched. I would feel that and wake up and look around the room. I knew I was awake, because I would sit up and look around, and it just felt weird, I don't know. I would turn on the light, and then go to the restroom or get something to drink. I would go back to bed and lay down and then start feeling that feeling of being watched and I hadn't been back in the bed for but a few minutes. I then felt something bump the bed and then it felt like someone sat on it, by my feet, and the feeling of a hand being placed gently on my calf. I would freeze! And when I looked I could see a dark figure, shadow-like, sitting on the bed next to my feet. It was a man, I could tell because he was tall and thin, but of substantial stature, just no features and fuzzy around the edges. I would reach over and turn on the lamp and he would be gone.
This happened on numerous times, and only when my Mom wasn't in the room with me. I told her and my grandmother, and 2 of my aunts once when we were all visiting. Both of my Aunts, my Mom, and my Grandmother, all said it was my Grandfather, and that he was watching over me, because he knew I was scared of the dark, and that they had all experienced the same thing. I never saw him again, after I told them. That always strange to me.
Now, the house my husband and daughter live in, I sometimes see what looks like my 7-year-old daughter coming out of one of the rooms and walking down the hall. Unfortunately, it has always been when I'm here alone. I have felt the bed bump, and feel that watchful feeling, and hear my name called in a whisper (almost makes you believe you said it in your head), and then wake up to what appears to be someone standing my bed, a dark shadow, that is not there when I turn the lamp on.
My daughter's play doorbell rings without batteries in it. I threw that away..lol
So that's my experience with the paranormal. Although, my husband believes me to be crazy, I know what I experienced. I know I'm not crazy..lol

Well this was our second annual Halloween scary story to share; I am stoked to see what kind of stuff Nikky comes up with for next year. This is sadly completed, so those of you who wanted us to turn it into a full story, at over 22k it has said all it has to say, but thanks for loving our stuff so much that you want us to add to it. I am not a big super-natural writer, or alternate universe writer, so this was mainly all Nikky; I just helped research things, reworded and re-worked things and added bits here and there.
Be sure to check out our other stories and if you like yourself some Older-ward and Dom-ward stuff be watching for the new story we have coming out soon, because it is going to be good in so many bad ways...(insert my evil cackle here...)
Well I promised that I would tell you all about my experience with the super-natural, so here ya go. When I was 18/19 I lived in this house in Rock Island, Illinois. The house was old and quite spooky anyway, but not huge in size. The basement had closed off walls that had been bricked over that were at one time part of tunnels used for the escape and hiding of slaves. The second floor was one large room and it had a dead bolt lock on the door. I used the whole second floor as my bedroom. The only people, who had a key to my room, were my mother, my best friend and myself. Well one night my best friend and I went out to a movie, before leaving I got mad and threw a wadded up bunch of necklaces, bracelets and earrings on the comforter of my bed. It was a HUGE knotted mess of silver and gold, some real some fake, but I never took very great care of it. I had been trying to untangle one necklace, but couldn’t get it. There must have been fifteen or more necklaces, and several dangling earring sets and bracelets/anklets in the wadded mess.
When I left the house I locked my door, because I didn’t trust anyone in my room. My mom was also gone and the whole house was locked up. My mom was with her boyfriend and actually spent the night there. My bff and I went to see two movies back to back and then went out to eat and came back to my house. When we opened my bedroom door, and turned on the light all of the knotted up jewelry was all separated and laying out in neat rows across my bed. Matching sets were even sitting together. All three keys were accounted for, and there was no sign of someone breaking into the house or my room, all doors had been completely locked up tight.
A few weeks later we had someone come in that claimed they could converse with the spirits and that there was a family who had died in the house many, many, years ago of some sort of plague like disease. Well it was a younger woman her husband and 2 children a boy around 6/7 and a baby girl and the couple’s grandmother. It was the boy who unknotted all the jewelry, he apparently liked to do puzzles, that is what the person said who talked to the spirits.
Several other weird things happened in that house. The toilet used to flush all by itself. Someone hid my mother’s glasses and then threw them at her when her back was turned after looking for them for a few hours. My mom came home one day to a pot of water boiling on the stove, and she was the only one in town, me and anyone else who had access to the house were out of town for a concert and she had locked the door before work that day, when she came home water was boiling on the stove. Many other odd things happened, but I was never so happy in my life when the people we rented from sold the house and we had to move.
Okay all that is my scary story, from when I was younger. I sometimes now think I see something and then it is gone when I look back, some people say that is a spirit, and some say imagination. Either way, I believe in that stuff. Hope you all have a very safe and wonderful Halloween, save the tricks for the adults, and treats for the kiddies. See you all soon on EHCV, with our update of Jane’s POV. Much love, Kasi (& Nikky)~

Either way, I believe in that stuff. Hope you all have a very safe and wonderful Halloween, save the tricks for the adults, and treats for the kiddies. See you all soon on EHCV, with our update of Jane’s POV. Much love, Kasi (& Nikky)~

Amazing! I loved every single syllable. You took the time to build characters, yet never lost pace in the story. Thank you for a great read! Kudos!
Author's Response:

This story has prompted my very first review! I really enjoyed this story! The only bad thing I can possibly say about it is that I wish it was longer. I would love to see it turned into an extended piece or another story with a similar premises.

Loved this story. My little ghost story is still going on. I've lived in this same house for the past twelve years and almost from day one two ghosts have made themselves know to us. One is an old hippy and the other is a cat. The cat freaks us out more than the hippy does but neither really is harmful. We just asked them both to not freak us out as much and they have scaled back.

Many other odd things happened, but I was never so happy in my life when the people we rented from sold the house and we had to move.
Thanks for all the story love, Kasi and (Nikky).
