Hiya in the bayou they speak cajun french, which is slightly different to french :) liking the story :)
Author's Response: *Groans* :D I know...I know...And the language varies by region and ethnicity, too. My great-grandmother was Creole, and (according to my mom and grandparents) what she spoke bore little resemblance to French or English. You TWCS readers are much too smart ;).
