This is your best chapter so far. The characters have been developed, have grown, the plot is more than "point A to Point B to point C", and your descriptions are just enough to paint a picture, not enough to detract. I'm glad that Alice visited, because I found myself just as wounded as Edward at her "betrayal" of friendship by hanging with Rosalie (who is just delightfully heinous!). Of course, none of this is stopping the fact that you clearly are an EVIL human being for leaving us with this cliffhanger!! I want the next chapter, and I want it NOW!! Okay, temper tantrum aside, please update soon? PLEEEEEAASSE??????

I was afraid she would run again like after their kiss, but you seem to have a knack for understanding when drama is necessary for the story's sake, and when it's superfluous. Release the Kraken! Er.... Monster! I'm very excited about this next chapter. I am glad you told us about Carlisle's feelings for Bella; and why he thought of her as Esme's reincarnation of sorts, but I can't help but think that, because it is from Edward's point of view, the "However his thoughts were always platonic" might just be a case of wishful thinking. I imagine it would be hard to have platonic feelings for someone who you thought was a reincarnation of the love of your life! I was glad to see some more of Aro; he seems more insane, less calculating, for some reason. Then again, that could just be Edward's interpretation of him! Thanks for sharing!

Wow. Edward neither confirmed nor denied the drug use. Does that mean something? I had forgotten until now the earlier chapter where his heart was racing and he was pale and sweaty when Bella followed him to his dorm room. Was that from the same thing as this chapter?

I still want to punch Emmett in the 'nads, but less so now that I know he really didn't mean what he said to Bella. What a fucktard!! I normally don't curse, so that really shows how angry I am at him. I absolutely LOVE your story, but it has made me cry more than anything else for the past several chapters. I want what Emmett said to become public knowledge, and for SOMEONE to punch him. In the 'nads. And for someone to FORCE Bella to believe that it was not her fault in any way that she ensured that Edward went out and had FUN for the first time in his life. It's NOT what hurt him!! So, basically, I want an HEA. NOW. That being said, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful writing with us! I feel like we've gotten to know Jasper so much better in the past few chapters; you have a real gift in making characters real, with actual personalities and development. You rock!

I understand this completely. When Bella thinks, she does so in two different ways; there's the over-analytical method, and then there's the emotional, "irrational" thinking. Like, when she sees Edward looking at her with adoration, but she knows that there's a chance that she's only seeing it because she wants so badly for it to be real. I know some people would be frustrated by the disparity of seeing something but not believing, but I think you've captured this strange dichotomy perfectly. Sometimes you want something so badly that it seems to be there; like when you imagine that the cute boy at the café is flirting with you because you've had a crush on him forever, when really he's just being polite. Or when you know, scientifically, that you cannot possibly make someone sicker by virtue of being in their presence, but you feel culpable, and there's no logical argument that can really persuade you otherwise. Thanks for this intriguing further glance into Bella's psyche. It's been great!

I do the same thing with scents! I have happy, confidence-boosting, calming, and make-me-happy scents!

Goodness!!! I have tears in my eyes as I'm writing this. This was amazing!! I loved everything about it; the math (counting), the small character insights (Jessica and Mike backstory), Alice, Rosalie, the time frame; everything was perfect. I love the flawed characters and how perfect it made them. Perfectly human. Homelessness is a huge problem in this country, along with the foster care system and adoption; did you know that while the US adopts more international children than any other country, we still have a huge surplus of unadopted children (mostly african-american males) unmatched by any other so-called developed country? Sorry, this wasn't meant to be a rant; thank you for shining some light upon the hardships of foster care and homelessness (all in the form of a beautiful story)!

This was a great chapter; everything just demonstrates how much Edward has grown up since the beginning of the story. He handled everything with Leah so maturely; it was obvious he really felt what was happening with her, and his desire to help was just so strong it took my breath away! All in all, this was a nice blend of drama, romance, angst, fun, and substantive lightness. I'm so glad Leah opened up about what happened; only when you openly deal with something like that can you move beyond it. Oh, and I loved the ending of this chapter, which Edward's silent vow to himself!

Hah! What a lovely end for these two! I particularly relish the expressions on the elders' faces if they were told their shapeshifting powers came from a diluted vampire line!

If this is an indication of your unbeta'd chapters, then you've got nothing to worry about! You've hardly made any errors, and pausing your updates would just hurt out feelings! I think this is great; I love the flashbacks. I'd love to hear what Bella would say to Rose and Alice if she explained the trials of high school!

Thanks for the update! It wasn't too short at all, although the ending was a bit abrupt. Is Bella being a little overharsh towards her mother from her letter? I can see how it could look like she's recommending a divorce, but it could also mean other things! When I read the letter, I didn't have any of the same negative reactions Bella did. But then again, Bella had to live through all of the carelessness and neglect of Renée, so maybe she's right to be upset. I'm not sure, but either way, thanks for updating! Oh, and one last thing, I am very proud of Edward for turning down sex when it's not the right thing for them! Way to step up for all of mankind!!

Too mean! I'm glad that Edward let her try again after such a ...painful earlier attempt. And also pleased that Alice and Rosalie were such supportive girlfriends what with the tutorial and all, when they could have just laughed about it. But really, again I say that you are TOO MEAN! So, I want to say that they should just screw Renée, because she doesn't deserve any consideration after being such an ignorant asshat to Bella earlier, but if she doesn't hear from Bella but from someone else, there's a chance she might come up and make a visit to them just to yell and be a jerk. So... tell her, but not in person? I don't know. I always liked Renée in the books, so I don't want her to be a jerk character, but she's always been inconsiderate and rather immature. Thanks for the update!

HAHAHAHA!!! Mike's Tootsies, indeed. I loved this chapter for its character development. Edward is still Edroar, that's for sure, but he opened up a tiny bit. And that's enough. I wanted to thank you for Jake's book; it made me cry, but just like with Bella, it was a good cry? I'm suspecting Edward and Carlisle's respective fury and numbness have the same root cause: the loss of a mother and wife (again, respectively... Not the same for them both). With this in mind, I have no idea how he'll respond to Jake's book. It might be too close to home for him? 

Everything about this chapter was exquisite. The tone devolved beautifully as the scene progressed, so the bordello-like, lust-filled haze of content confusion was made clear to the reader even as it was felt by the character. Space cakes, huh? With the Electric popsicles and now the space cakes, I'm gonna hazard a guess that our beloved masseuse (therapist) is building up an internal supply of LSD or some other hallucinogenic drug. How will this effect her LCI? (Laughter Control Issues; I very well may have forgotten the real acronym).

-Okay, let's ignore that CLIFFHANGER for a moment... I loved the reunion scene! Using Star Trek to win Edward back was just so perfect! But I am really feeling some sad love for poor neglected Mace. Clever chapter title! I loved Edward in this chapter; he was so accepting. I am SO sad that the story is ending... but I'm happy too, because E&B (And Hippy Alice/Jasper) totally deserve a happy ending. Oh, I mean, if it is a happy ending. I don't think you're mean enough to make us cry (AGAIN), are you?

Oh I loved this! The switches in perspective were great; I like that it switched from 3rd-person to Bella; Bella to Edward to Bella is just a little bit overdone! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! I love James and Laurent. I always felt bad for Laurent and Victoria in canon (not so much James, he was just a bit too sadistic), because they didn't know about an alternative diet until they were already too far gone. And in Victoria's case, I'd probably want revenge against whoever killed my mate, too! I like the idea of a great "fuck you, bitches, I own you all!" entrance to the reunion. Not literally, but I love the revenge of the successful former nerds!

Hah!! I love the end of this chapter. The fact that Emmett bothered to ask Bella for permission to do the underwear modeling was just... adorable? It's kind of weird to use the word adorable to talk about Emmett in undies (because you're right, those Calvin Klein ads ARE killer!) but it's just his big-brother trait coming out.
