That was an insanely difficult chapter to read!!! I'm at work and had to go pull myself back together. You're writing is so amazing. I feel like I'm living this story and in the room with Bella and Edward. I hope Edward really listens and processes what Bella told him. I want so desperately for him to fight for each day and live for each moment and enjoy each day as much as he can! Positive attitude and hope can be a very powerful combination. And it's definitely better than giving up and just waiting scared and depressed for the end to come. He needs to live and enjoy each day and spend it with those he cares about and who care about him! I know, I'm sorry! This was a hard one to write as well. But wow, thank you for the fabulous compliments on my writing. Feeling like you're in the room with Bella and Edward? That's awesome! I love that I'm able to engage you to that level! I agree completely about positive attitude. You can see just in the chapter the effect that Edward's attitude had on his pain and his physical condition. He needs to at least fight for the days he has left, even if he's unwilling or unable to fight to defeat his cancer. Hang on, things will get better! :)

Yes, I don't think Edward Sr. had ever been stood up to like that before--it was quite a shock for him! He came down a peg, but he could use to come down quite a few more. It's criminal that he hurt Edward at all, let alone repeatedly. Edward seemed willing to talk to Bella, so hopefully we'll know more soon! :)

Bella got to tell him she loves him and he responded! I'm glad that Bella convinced Jasper to back off of Elizabeth for Edward's sake. Elizabeth has some big issues to deal with. I know she's going to need a lot of support also. Good thing Bella is a lot stronger than she realizes. They're building a good support system for Edward. He just has to hang in there and get over the pneumonia.

It certainly seemed as if Edward responded to her--we'll have to wait until he's off the ventilator to find out. Yes, Jasper has never really seen abuse--only the aftermath for his best friend--so he doesn't understand the psychological aspects of the situation. But his heart is in the right place--protecting his friend. I think he'll come around ;)
Bella IS a lot stronger than she realizes, and the support rallying around Edward will surely help them both. Now he just needs to get better.

That's horrible! I have never experienced chemo treatments with anyone although I have lost multiple family members to cancer. My heart goes out to everyone who has had to live through this. I hope Edward starts to recover now.

This was so heartbreaking, but I'm so glad Bella made her decision to go to him before Alice called and that Edward is now choosing to fight! I know! It sure took him long enough, didn't it? But he needed to hit rock bottom to see what he needed to do. And yes, Bella did change her mind, and she's planning to tell him. Edward's dad is a real piece of work. Someone needs to take a baseball bat to him and crack a couple of his ribs and belittle him and see how he likes it. Things got a little, okay a lot, HOT between them. Had to turn the fan on at my desk at work. My heart just breaks for them. I hope Bella tells him how she feels soon. I know he'll have mixed emotions but he deserves to know he's loved. Hell, I love him too!

Yup, any harm you'd like to do to Edward Sr. is just fine with me. I don't know why he is the way he is, I only know that he's unredeembable. Things did heat up for them--they both want it so much, but they can only go so far. At least for now. ;) Edward does deserve to know he's loved, but Bella just can't see now it'll do any good if there's no hope for him. It'll only cause them both more pain. Hang in there--this will work itself out! :)

I hate that Edward was suffering so much that he asked for morphine despite the side effects. But I love that they talked so openly with each other. I know they're falling for each other despite what their minds may be telling them. The heart wants what the heart wants!!! I have a feeling Edward may remember more than Bella thinks he will. Hi Virginia! Yes, although morphine high Edward is quite adorable, it's sobering to remember the reason he got this way. But Bella learned so many things about his feelings for her! Yes, they are both falling hard, but there's the little matter of both of them having good reasons why they shouldn't do this. We'll have to get past those before we can truly move forward. LOL! Now that's what I like to hear! :) The issue of Edward fighting is a delicate one, since only he and those bound by law know if he still has any options for treatment. Jasper will definitely be a help and a support to him, but Jasper also knows how rough chemo is, and that it's failed Edward twice before. We'll see. ;) I'm glad you have hope. One of my favorite quotes of all time is from The Shawshank Redemption: Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. Quite appropriate here.

So heartbreaking!! I'm so glad Edward opened up to Bella about his parents. It's terrible how his father treated him and I don't blame Edward for the way he feels. But I do agree with Bella that he needs to reach out to his mom. She was able to talk him into the feeding tube, so hopefully he'll give her words some serious consideration. Like a lot of other fans, I'm still holding out hope for a miracle!!! Just like every other time you've posted a new chapter, I wish it was already the next posting day. I can't wait for Monday!!!

Up Conner is acting like a spoiled brat and a shithead. But we'll just have to wait and see how Bella handles it. It broke my heart to write this part of the story, mostly because I've know of friends who've had this very problem in RL.

Connor acted like a spoiled child not getting his way! I don't know how I would feel in Bella's shoes (I've been married for 24 years), but my heart breaks for her. You shouldn't ever feel like you're being made to choose between you family/kids and someone you're dating. Edward is a great guy and treats Bella with care and respect. Connor didn't even give Edward a chance because of his age, which is just a number. And to talk to his mom like that, he should feel horrible. Bella didn't deserve that at all.
