I'm sorry. It had to be hard. For a war such as this, if it wasn't hard, I wouldn't be doing it right. Trying to soften the blow, would do them an injustice. Losses like these would be agonizing. The grief is a tribute to those lost.

You said she wanted to die and I didn't want to believe it, I guess, but I was wrong. I'm not sure it's even possible, but Bella is definitely doing her best to end her agony of being without Edward. It hurts my heart to read about her pain and I hope there is an end to it that doesn't involve her destruction.

In New Moon, Bella behaved as if she had a death wish, even though she was only a teenager going through her first break-up. Maybe Meyer didn't intend to make her suicidal, but I've read enough fan fiction to know, her younger readers did indeed take it that way. I've read many stories where Bella turned to drugs, cutting, meaningless sex, and violent behavior, all the way up through suicide. In this story, Bella has been happily married for ten years, and Edward didn't leave, he died. Everything she felt in New Moon comes into play, times 100. Add in perfect vampire memory, and I have no doubt she'd try; Edward already gave her the example, when he was ready to die when he believed she was dead.

this is darn hard. I watch him killed off in stories where he is the bad guy but oh my. Well it is a story and he has cheated in another and I might wish she would kill him off in that one.

Above all, I thought it was important to be true to the characters. I hate stories where someone wants to write a new pairing, so they vilify one of the partners. It's much harder to finesse a new pairing when no one falls from grace.

It almost takes my breath away, the people you had die in this insane war! Edward, Emmett, Esme, Kate, Tanya, Tia, Carmen, my God! At least Bella still has her daughter and her grandchildren, though those children never got to know Edward!Just that sentence is kind of hard for me to write, as my dad died when I was two, so I never got to really know him, and I can empathize, big time! I don't know how Bella can stand to be back on that island, without her beloved! I don't think I could! I hope Alice and Jasper are able to connect with Bella once again.

I was eight when my dad died, leaving my mom a widow with three kids. My brother was six and my sister was a baby. I've been lucky that I don't have first hand experience of the kind of grief Bella's going through. War is particularly nasty, taking young and healthy people in their prime. I wrote this before Breaking Dawn showed us what a war might look like. I did get how fast and brutal it would go. Bellla didn't go to the idsland to remember, she went there to die.

Well, I see from the beginning of this that you are about to break my heart, as well as Bella's! To kill Edward would have nearly the same effect as killing Bella! This must have been a nightmare you had and decided to share with the rest of us. I've always been a sucker for Bella and Edward having forever together, not simply a few years and then devestation! You suggest the Denalis and the Volturis planned this hideous war, so I assume they are in it together. Because I like your stories so much, I'll stick with this until I can't see my keyboard through the tears! See you soon!

You know where I'm going, I figured it was better to pull the band-aid fast. The war wasn't really the Denali's fault, and they didn't collaborate with the Volturi. Keep the tissues handy, the first 4-6 chapters are pretty rough.
