Holy hell, shit hit the fan between Edward and Carlisle pretty bad... I understand why Edward does this now, because its not only needed for the business to get Carlisle back "in shape" but for the family as well. From he little information we have about him, I'd say he seems to be deeply in a midlife crisis, and it coud be over the positive acknowledgement Edward receives not only from their staff but the customers now, too. From the way you described Esme, she is her usual loving self, and I'm betting she tried to defend Edward to Carlisle over his complaints, which would explain his hostile behavior to Edward as well as the comment Carlisle made about both of them here...
I dont have personal experience with people going through one, but I doubt it has always come in the way of younger woman on the side and te obligatory new sports car;)
Little Swan is goig to the spa? This sounds like something I'd love to accompany, because I'm more than sure, she'll have a lot of fun there. And the timing for that getaway couldn't have been any better;)
Maybe Renée does know more than she leads on about Amelia meeting Bella twice that week, maybe not, but im glad she invited her to come along. I did a spa day with my mom once, with massages and a few sauna visits, we had a blast, and I wouldn't mind doing it again:)

Oh my, that was so sweet, and almost exactly what I expected:)
I'm very surprised that Bella did tell him so much already, but more than happy she did! The part about Amelia was probably easier to talk about than her feelings though. Because that's nothing really concering her directly, but opening up like this, sure is.
And I'm pretty sure Edward does know how much more they can be if started the rght way, because in my book, hes ding perfectly fine. Even if he couldn't get over watchng her sleep unbeknownst to her at the beginning;)

It doesn't need a genius to guess what Bella's cousin would want money for, from her appearance it can only be drugs... And if she's having a bad "monkey" (thats what a big kind of withdrawal is called in germany at least), she would do anything to get money to get her next fix :(
I'm very glad, that Bella didn't back down, but stood her ground and told her no, though. What I hate is, that she got physically attacked and no one was close enough to get between it earlier :( And of course, Edward is feeling that much worse about it...
Their day was so sweet, until they had to part of course ; ) And I loved how affectionate Bella was as he got to the club, it was heart warming to me!
I hope Edward is taking her home now, because she might need more of that B&J in his fridge and probably of his cuddling, too;)
Hm... The comment that Edward would regret leaving Blake like he did, has me worried a bit as well. Wouldn't his friend understand that he has had to go, after what he overheard from Emmett?!

I'm curious what is making Carlisle like the asshole he is here, because all the clues are well hidden if there were ones;) Of course I have a few guesses what ciuld be the problem, but I think I'll have to wait and see if I'm right...
Why would you make Bella the shortest one in the group? I think its a nice turn to most canon plots, so thanks for that change.

As someone who is 5'2 myself, I always enjoy reading about a small Bella, although it seems to be pretty rare. All the 'Bella Swan' characters that are written seem to be relatively tall with 'elongated legs' or 'legs that go on forever' which is all well and good but sometimes we need more shorties around.
When I first began writing this story and playing around with ideas, there was never any other option for the height of Little Swan... Her name says it all!
Hang onto your thoughts about Carlisle and when it's revealed, let me know if you're right!

I like relationships that have strong foundations, so Little Swan and Edward will be building that first and forming something of substance. It won't be a massively slow burn but it's always good to have a solid base!
