I can think of a few reason's he would want to have full custody, of Bella's boys. One child support, 2, he could get Rose off his back about having a baby, 3 even thou he's sold the house to 3 different couples he probably thinks he can back out of that and have it back too. I wouldn't put it passed his mother to put it in his head thou and helped him get a lawyer. Please this will be the last straw, when Edward and Bella take the DNA test results in and prove he is nothing to the boys.
I know why he wants the hair test done, he can test for drugs. Depending on how long Bella's hair is he can go back a couple of years to see what kind of drugs were in her hair. I know when I got hired for a job back in the 90's they said then that every inch was like a 90 days, and they took it right from the scalp. Can't wait for Friday to get here.

Even if he was their dad, the chances of him ever getting sole custody the way the court system works is slim to none: first off he has no valid income he can claim (unless he mentions the security company and HELLO - that's a dumb idea) plus with the restraining order for Bella... This chapter brings back so many memories of when I volunteered as a "cuddler" in the NICU. So many of the babies had parents that couldn't be there full time so the cuddlers stepped in and helped to fed and love up the babies. It truly was a memorable time in my life.

As this story unfolds it's easy to forget that Edward and Bella haven't spent the normal time getting to know each other as a dating couple would. So Bella being dislodged from her home is another stressor she has to concede.

Love this chapter. Esme is so sweet bringing them homemade food. I understand how the nicu is my nephew was in primary children's hospital when he was born way to earlier.
