I see at least some of that in this story & I'm not sure if I'm ready. But, I will stuff my fear in the background & read on!
I found myself googling 'Human Chimera'. Interesting. Nothing I read made me think this is common but it did get me thinking about how often this happens. One thought did go thru my head....all DNA paternity tests need to be done from sperm not from the mouth or blood. Plus the DNA (no matter where it came from) I would think should show a 'familial' relation.

I can't believe how awful Charlie treated Bella. (well maybe I can I've had a parent like that). I can see why Bella is worried about how Edward will see her because you know that Alice & Angela would be sure to tell him exactly what happened. I love how Jessica & Lauren have taken her under their wing. I can't imagine them leaving her high and dry during the prologue.

Okay, love your story, and no I wouldn't have Charlie over for dinner. One thing thou, if you say Dream please said end of Dream or something. I for one don't really like dreams, in stories or TV shows or movies. IE reminds me of soap operas which I do still watch a few. That being said why didn't her friends suggest she call the police, or one of the on lookers, I know I would if I seen a man hit a woman whether she was his child or whatever. The man is a cop he must know the laws, and know it was assult. As for her"Dr." he is also breaking laws, I hope that she explains this all to Edward, if she sees him. I think something must have happen to Emmett, that's why he's away and Alice too. Can't wait for the next chapter.
As a side note your grammer isn't a problem, or miss spelling of a word we all do it.

Mind boggling statistics.
If Bella only had the aid of an adult, that could help her file charges of assault against her father. But she has been mentally abused her entire childhood. She would never dream of charging her father for his physically aggressive behavior.
What about campus security, shouldn't they be contact?
Bella's family doctor needs to have his license suspended for breach of confidentiality.
Unfortunately there is only so much Jess and Lauren can do to sooth Bella's nerves.
