He has only had one romantic relationship and that was with Esme, who was a vampire. Being with a human is a brand new expierience for him and it throws him a bit off balance.

Oh hell yes! You certainly know how to make a sick girl feel better! This was nothing short of perfection! I was surprised that Carlisle proposed, but it was a happy surprise. Their evening out was just beautiful. I loved Alice and Rose singing ABBA songs as well as their shopping trip. I felt wonderful for Jasper as he calmed Carlisle before the date. Jasper really is a great guy, and I love the way you write him. Heck, I love the way you write all of them! The hot lovin' at the beginning was wonderful as well.

I am not a big Carlisle/Bella fan. It just seemed a little odd with their "father/daughter" type relationship. The only time it even crossed my radar was watching New Moon during the scene with him cleaning up Edward's mess (well that is what I call it). There was this moment where I felt my eyebrow raise and I thought "that is just a little too something". I couldn't even really put a lable on it, but to me it was kind of like a line being crossed. Anyway, I just never really gave the pairing much thought until now. I really like the way you have made this a very "realistic" (if that word can even be used while discussing fanfiction involving sparkling vampires) view of how a romantic relationship between the two could develop and thrive. I am really enjoying the slow build and I can't wait to read more.

Thank you for the beautiful compliment. I have read a few C&B pairings that I enjoyed (most being human), so I really wanted to write my own. When the idea came to me I waited more than six months to start writing it because I needed to find a "realistic" (there is that word again) way to remove Edward and Esme from the equation. Just found your story ... well, that's not entirely true. I have seen it posted before, but I tend to shy away from stories that kill off any of the Cullens or Bella. I took a chance.
.... and ... read it straight through. Excellent story. Well thought out. Loved the meadow scenes and the Denali's arrival. Really happy to see Bella and Carlisle coming together.
Now, I'm eager for the next chapter.

Ok, so i am glad they are seemingly on the same page now..... Well until bella thinks she needs to stay human so carlsile can go on and be free of his obligation to her... Well maybe tha will happen... I was reading another story and they rec' this one in their author notes... But they said it was not a HEA...... I thought it was.. I mean yeah she's not with Edward but this is a bella carlisle story...right?? Is this going to end up with Bella dieting or Kate getting Carlisle? I have been reading this story since arounf chapter 3 sooo ,,I am confused.... Anyway back to this chapter....... So glad the denalies are Gone! Just scared what Kate has up her sleeve ....

First off, I love that you took a chance on my story from someone eles's rec. :)
Second, I never made a promise of giving anyone a HEA or not. And honestly if I was to tell you now, I think it would take something away from the upcoming chapters.
Third, This IS a Carlisle and Bella story. I needed to take Edward and Esme out of the picture (as sad as it was) to clear the way for C&B because I don't believe that they would ever naturally turn to each other if either Esme or Edward were still in the world. That's how I see it...writer's prerogative.
Fourth and finally...Thank you for taking the time to review!!! I really appreciate every one I get. As for Kate...we haven't heard the last of her. ;)

Was it worth waiting 14 chapters? HELL YEAH!!! It was perfect! I admit that I was worried about the idea of Bella going skiing, but I didn't want to doubt Carlisle. I'm glad I didn't. It was wonderful to see Bella so happy and carefree. And the kiss? Uh-may-zing! It was incredible! Words can't even begin to describe it! I did get a little worried when Bella and Carlisle were dancing and kissing, but I knew Carlisle would never let anything happen to our Bella. And yes I still say Carmen and Eleazar will be back to dance at Carlisle and Bella's wedding. There will be a wedding! If not, I will hunt you down and make you write a wedding scene for me! I'm pretty loud, and I would annoy you after a while!

I really love how soft and romantic this chapter was and also the reminder that he is really just a young man trapped with an old soul. I think I forget that about him - he's played by an older actor and he is always the "dad" but really, if Edward is a 108 year old 17 year old, then that has to apply to Carlisle too at 23.
The wrestling with his own demons, that was well done. He's not perfect and that will probably force her decision I would think.

You are absolutely right. I think that most haters of a Carlisle and Bella coupling are so because they think of him as the dad. When he really is forever 23. His brain may hold the wisdom of over 300yrs, but his body is perpetually in its prime.

Oh darling Nickey, I can forgive you for holding back on the kiss because this chapter was awesome! It's about dang time that Bella realized her feelings! I loved that she and Carlisle just spent some sweet, relaxing alone time. They really needed it after their recent stress. I'd like to punch Kate, but I'm even clumsier than Bella and I'd hurt myself. So glad that Rosalie and Jasper stepped in there! I know I've said it before, but I love Carmen and Eleazar in this story and I hope to see them dance at Bella and Carlisle's wedding. Come on, you know there's going to be a wedding!
