It's true that Carlisle wants to be there for Bella, but he has not gotten to the point where he can see her in a romantic way. Edward knows that he will take care of Bella. He knows he has to let her go, but it is hard for him just the same.

As for my updates, I write as often as I can, but I work and have a husband and three busy boys, so my time to write is not as much as I would like it to be. I try to update once a week and it is usually Thursday or Friday by the time I get the most recent chapter back from my pre-reader and proof read it one more time myself.

why have they taken off with her? poor charlie - i know they dont want to loose her again but charlie has just lost her i hope not for good. poor carlisle is he so upset over esme that he is putting all his focus on bella to help him forget? so many questions - onto the next chapter

They took her because Carlisle felt it was the best option. Taking her to the hospital with those types of wounds would get her locked up in the psych ward for sure. Not only that, he knew that she did it because she wanted to die. Though, he didn't want her to die, he knew that he could give her more options when she recovered from her injuries.
And yes, Carlisle has already lost the first two members of his family, so he focused all his efforts on saving Bella and making her well. I hope I answered all your questions.

This is one of the first storys that ihave enjoyed in avwhile. Well written and thought out. Better than other Bella Carlisle stories. You have taken great care with all of the other characters.
Hope that you do not use pregnancy as a plot device. It derails other writers including SM.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. As much as I want to get to the 'good stuff' I just didn't feel right skipping over the emotions that come from losing people who are so important.
And as for the baby question...I have no plans to screw up a good story with a hybrid baby. I agree that SM went a little off the reservation with that particular idea (but I have to concede that it did give a nice balance in the end to give Jacob his mate and explain his unhealthy bond to Bella). That's my opinion anyway. ;)

I promise you that a HEA is in the playbook for this story. Just have a little faith in me to get you there. Bella is a shell...on the outside. Keep in mind that this story follows the four months that Bella has spent alone and broken after Edward and the Cullen's left her. She was damaged even before learning of Edward's death and her own suicide attempt. The human mind can only take so much before it turns in on itself to cope with the pain. On the inside she is in a very happy place (with her Edward). Edward may not be real, but to her he is. He is there to help her heal.
The only ray of hope I can offer is a promise that it is always darkest before the dawn. And it is pretty damned dark roight now. ;)

So emotionally intense. One of the things that I love about this one, is that most stories like this have Edward dying at the hands of the newborn army, same for Esme. That was not the case here. Bella is greiving just as you would have expected her to in the books. I think you are doing an amazing job with this story.
