That is so messed up what the family did to him.  I dont think I would be talking to them in 2 weeks either.  That would take me forever to be able to even look at them.  He has more forgiveness in him I guess.

What a screwy family!! Damn! To mess with Edward's head all this time. His father was bigger than life when he was a boy and he carried that fear into adulthood. It is no wonder he fell for the act. He was intimidated by the man all this time for nothing. I'd be pissed too.

I am glad Edward was able to work through his frustrations *wink* in such a delightful manner!

Edward is very upset right now, he is in his right to be so. His entire family has been on the lie for a long time. No one said anything. He might want to put all the blame on them, but eventually he will realize his mostly responsible. He decided to not stand up to his father. It was his choice to agree and accept what ever he was told. His acceptance made everyone else's part easy to go along with. Yes, they are strange, unique, but as Bella said, his family. Edward tried to play that same card about Charlie; it wouldn't work as well since as Bella said, he hasn't been part of her life. But still he does have a point there.

Um...yes he can cut his dad out of his life. The rest of the family too.  Unless they come to him on bended knee profusely appologizing neither of them should be talking to the family any time soon.  Especially Carlisle and Jasper. They have broken so many bounds of trust and respect it's ridiculous.  I've cut my family out for similar reasons and I've never thought of going back.  My life got infinitely better because of it.  Carlisle is poison and even if the rest of the family apologizes and he lets them back in, he needs to still keep away from Carlisle.  He has never done anything BUT play head games and he never will stop.  He's not worthy of the title 'father'.

meh!! We liked ther old relationship.. well it was a great story!! we wont be reading any more of it but it was great what we read!! We are a strictly domward group though!! Bravo on the story!!

I can understand why Edward is so mad at his dad and the rest of his family.  What they did was wrong.  That's not very good parenting of Carlisle and Esme.  They all made him look like a fool.  Bella has no right to try to get Edward to talk to his dad when she won't even talk to her own dad.  I think if Edward talks to Carlisle then she has to talk to her dad.  When Bella said their situation wasn't the same I think she's wrong.  Sure Edward's dad was always there but the ways he's be treated over the years is just as bad.  At least I think so.  I think it's good that their going to ignore the Cullens for the two weeks and let them sweat it out.  They deserve it.  I think they all need to apolgize to Edward. 

Well shit I can understand why Edward is so mad but he was just a little out there with the Whole Boycott of the Family thing.  BUT I hear him and understand what he's saying....

I never saw that coming.  I am in my OMG moment right now!!  It was all a sick joke that the entire family played on Edward.  I can understand why he is upset with his family.  It is/was kinds low down and dirty to trick him like that.

Geez, aren't Emmett and Jasper going to feel like big dummies when they find out. Of course by the same token, Rosalie and Alice are going to be really angry when they find out, too.

The drinking incident was awful but it did bring Bella and Edward closer to each other. It made Bella mature, and also to speak when she feels the need to say something; she just needs to remember to do it politely. 

Bella's life is about to really start now she is out of high-school, at least that's how it seemed. But with Carlisle wanting to talk with them, as Bella said, we'll have to wait and see...

all i can say is OMG bella this is the pivotal point in your relationship. will edward stand up to his dad for you. will you guys actually have a wedding. will bella talk back to carlisle. oh so many questions. i am so worried for bella. she has to be shitting bricks but then on the other hand she is thinking he better stand by me or it is over. oh my

Bella knew perfectly well that her actions merited punishment. She wasn't scared of being punished, she knew she deserved it. What's interesting is she asked for it. She realizes it is necessary for both of them to be able to put this behind them. Edward waiting for him to calm down was amazing. He didn't want to be upset while he punished her. It would be bad for both of them. It's not that I am condoning their conduct, more than I get it. That's how they work and they are working amazingly. The trust they have come to share is amazing. 

There was a reason for Bella's behavior and I am guessing Edward is figuring out at least part of it. Lets hope he does something about it. The wedding is something Bella should be excited about, look forward to it. Not just a process, it isn't fair to her. 

As for Irina, Angela, and their relationship with Edward, Irina and Edward are really close and good friends. Their relationship is unique, but based in affection and lots of trust. They are all very lucky to have each other there. 

I like how Bella is always expressing in her mind her gratitude.

I hope E. doesn't find out about Riley being at the party, that could end badly.
