Yikes!!!!!!

This was huge. I could say I side with Bella on this, partly I do I guess. Carlisle's methods are not only strange but uneven. He gave Edward anything and everything he wanted when he was 16. How can it be expected for a guy that age to not loose track of reality? It seemed Carlisle and Esme didn't pay attention to him, until Carlisle found him that day and kicked him out. Was it drastic? Yes, but somehow Edward was looking for it. Carlisle punishments are strong and swift, that doesn't make them the best ones. Edward learned his lesson, he became a good man, with some unique tastes. He has done good for himself, and in a way he has his father to thank. However that doesn't give Carlisle the right to keep guiding everyone's lives. They have grown up. technically, they should be left to make their choices, good or bad. 

Also, one thing is for him to control his sons, but their girlfriends? What gives him the right? His sons look up at him, but that still doesn't give him the right. His sons are showing weakness I think. They should be allowed to make their rules and enforce them however they see fit.

Bella is right in not wanting to be controlled by Carlisle too. What she does or doesn't do, is up to her and Edward. It seems Edward is certain he will always do what Carlisle says, even if he doesn't agree. That isn't right. 

Is Bella overreacting with ending things? Maybe, but on the other side, it seems huge shocks are the only way to make Edward realize things.

Hmm, well that will make Edward shit or get of the pot!  I cant believe that she actually stood up to him.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes Edward to grow some balls now.

I mean yeah.......right? I agree with her totally, and I don't know why he can't just tell his Dad that he is an adult and he is not to touch him or his girlfriend. It's not like he has control over his home and money......right? Or does he? It just seems like he is afraid that he will have to relive that horrible ordeal again, which he won't because he is an adult not a child. So if his Dad can't except it then he needs to just walk away and have a happy life with Bella. Well shit I could have told him that.  He has never had control.  I dont know why he thinks he has.  If he lets his father take charge of his life like that, then he has never had control.  I agree with Bella, I woulding let his father spank me either.  Thats just being too much of a control freak.

Well at least Carlisle let everyone have a good Christmas. Can't wait to find out more in the next chapter.

I'm surprised that she went along with them being the only people she's allowed to hang out with, especially give the fact she doesn't like hanging out with them all that much. I mean, I can see her logic of being okay with it because she doesn't have friends for it to interrupt her friendships with but that's going above and beyond the call of duty controlling. What if she meets someone at school she really enjoys being with? It's stifling and harmful to say she can't have contact with other people.  Honestly, it would be a huge red flag to me to get out of the relationship.  One of the first things abusive men do is try to isolate their victims from thief former life, especially family and friends. It's one of the first thing Domestic Violence counselors tell you to watch out for. I'm not saying I think Edward is abusive by any means, but it's something that screams danger to me and I'd be out the door asap. I wouldn't wait around to see what his intentions were or not.

As someone who is in a D/s relationship and has lived the BDSM lifestyle for 10+ years, I think it's exceptionally fucked for Edward to not put all his rules into the contract. It's highly manipulative.  She has every right to know up front what she's getting into.  Instead he's giving it to her slowly after her emotions grow, turning up the heat on the pot a little at a time. That's another huge red flag. I would tell anyone in a BDSM relationship to walk asap if a Dom did this to them. I know Edward isn't a BDSM practitioner per se and instead views his lifestyle as just having elements of it, but that really doesn't change anything. It's still highly manipulative and screams danger and a possible abusive situation.

Awesome story so far I am married to a man that is 17 years older than myself we have been married for 19 years and I would not change it... Keep writing and I will keep reading.

Awwwwww!!! I wanted to hear that coversation. I need an update ASAP!!! This was a great chapter and if I am correct I think Bella is starting to see a more nicer, softer side to Carlisle......right? I hope so because if he's a spanker then there at least better be a good side to him. Anyhow I Can't wait for the next update.

your chapter was fantistic..  It was nice to see a different side of Carlisle..  and Bella saw it right away.  He might be hard but he does have a heart.  maybe. hhaha. I love Emment and Al..  is was to sweet.  Then the boys fighting over the legoes.  that was priceless..   Bella and Edward are grow together you can feel it.  Your cliffhanger is maddening.  I been want to find out what Carlisle did to Edward.  Edward makes perfect sentence tell her about his past and then move on.  So they can have a wonderfully time and get though stuff............  I hope in the end she will love and understand Edward a whole lot better..  Awesome..

i am glad to see bella is sticking to her guns on the carlisle thing. getting a spank from your hubbie/boyfriend is one thing if it is agreed upon by both parties but to have to worry that you father in law will turn you over his knee and beat you is totally fucked up. i hope eddie understands and i hope their confrontation with carlisle is a turning point for the other couples in the family as well. fucked up for one is fucked up for them all.
