He's baaaack! My very favorite Edward - from chapters 1 and 5 - the hot, enigmatic Edward, the Edward who made me such a fan of this story! I like some soft, tender moments, but I really like hot and bothered moments, instigated by Edward (without soft, tender conversation). Lucky Bella - she's having so much fun w/Mr. Hottie! So glad she displayed some green-eyed jealousy for her green-eyed man.
The sports games, especially the nerf war, were great. Bella really came off a little bratty, tho, when she insisted on volleyball, and wouldn't listen to others' votes. Didn't even seem like she let the other guests in on the game, either. Guess that's just cocky Bella.
I'm gonna feel as sad as the six of them when they have to go back home. I've enjoyed all the Hawaiian fun. Can't wait for next week's chapter!

Liked the way Bella shot down the waiter to make Edward feel good. I'm not sure old Bella would have done that.
Looking forward to the girls' day out, too. When the 3 ladies get together, it's always fun to read about.
Here's what I'd like to see - now that Bella is so totally into Edward - and vice versa - I'd love for them to run into Mike (but at home, not in Hawaii, wouldn't want to spoil that great vacation). Maybe Bella could then get over her bad thoughts about that time in her life, and get a little of her own back. Let Mike see how totally happy she is now! Just a thought...

I am really loving your story. I always love a strong Bella, and watching her slowly come to terms with her feelings has been so well done. My question is about Edward and Emmett. I love fun-loving Emmett as much as everyone, but I feel like everyone lets him off when he is such a shit to Edward. Isn't Edward their friend too? There's really a two-fold thing going on with Emmett and Edward. First, they don't get involved because they all know it will only make Emmett act worse. Secondly, it's not a new thing. In families, when one sibling teases another, in the beginning everyone tries to run interference. But once they see their interference makes it worse, they stop. Plus, they really are seeing a change in Emmett and Edward's relationship, even if it is slow and gradual. They know the best way to fix things is to let Emmett and Edward work it out between them. They are going to be much closer by the time this story is over, both of them having admitted to the reasons for their behavior.

Just for the record, I thought you were successful with your previous chapter. The reason I felt like I'd taken a punch to the gut was because I could clearly see and feel both sides. If I'd felt like one or the other of them was more in the wrong, I would have been yelling about that instead.
I loved this chapter and how it followed them both from the raw pain through the long road of reconciliation. Anyone else would have just given up, I think. But they're willing to put a lot of effort into making it work because they know they're worth it.
I know they're not through it yet--after all, Bella still has things to say to Edward. We still have unanswered questions about Edward's past. But as sad as it is to see that they've lost that easy comfort with each other, I'm glad to know they're close to getting it back.

Exactly! It's not supposed to be easy. It's not supposed to be Edward's picture perfect day just because HE is taking Bella out to dinner. She specifically asked for small. Not only did he take her to an expensive restaurant, he didn't even give her the courtesty of letting her know they were going somewhere where she needed to dress up. No matter how confident you are in yourself, being the odd man out is uncomfortable. And yes, real guys are like Edward. Real guys can seem so perfect and like such a catch and then they show they are human and make a mistake. That's what he did. He made a mistake and showed he was a flawed person. You know I was actually getting really upset with Edward's behavior during the entire day until he said the one thing that made his whole attitude make sense. "I just felt like I was getting shoved into that friend zone where I was someone to rely on and to trust, but not to love." I know what that feels like and you are always the last person to know. He was on the offensive side of that argument trying to get himself out before he got truly hurt if he found out that she didn't or couldn't love him.
I'm curious if his outburst and overall attitude had anything to do with what he wanted to talk to Bella about that day in bed when Alice interrupted their talk. He wanted to say something to her and she could tell it was important but she let Alice pull her away. Could some of his anger and hurt feelings been avoided if they were allowed to finish that conversation?
I do applaud Bella because she put up with a lot that day starting with Edward's attitude in the morning. She could have yelled and screamed after that very first phone call to start the day but she didn't and that says a lot about how much she loves him. In his mind, I think, he's been afraid of losing her that he's missed the little signs along the way.
Now as far as the date goes, yeah he kinda messed that one up. He should have known better that to take Bella to places like that. However, he has said so many times how special she is and he was going to convince her that she deserved the nice things in life. I can see his reasoning behind it hoping that if he made it special enough that she would finally tell him she loved him but when she didn't say a single word, it just brought everything out in the open.
Okay I will stop this majorly massive review now. I really hope they both do what needs to be done to not screw up what they have. They love each other and they need to work it out. Awesome chapter. You Rock!!!

Actually, it's you who rock!! Your review lets me see that even though a lot of people picked sides, I did present both sides of the argument out there to be seen. If Edward hadn't ran from that conversation, a lot of things might have been different. I won't say in what way because we're not out of the woods with these two yet.
For Edward, it was all about being on the offensive and keeping himself from getting hurt. He does love her, but love isn't always enough, especially when you're the kind of person who really needs to have that feeling come back to you. For Bella, she truly believed he saw what everyone else kept telling her - that her smiles were different for him and that she was calm with him. She's inexperienced and she relies on the experience she believes Edward has for a lot of things - so it never occurred to her he would miss all of the signs everyone else saw so clearly.

Edward had a perfect vision in his head. He would take Bella to an upscale restaurant. They would eat great food while talking and joking with each other. Bella would thank him and ask to come back sometime soon. Then, they would go to the art exhibit. Bella would be thrilled and enjoy it so much! She would have so much to say about each piece and he couldn't wait to hear her take on what the artist might have thinking when he created each work of art.
Edward didn't get his perfect vision and he didn't know how to handle it. Instead of admitting he had not given her the "small" he'd promised, he put it all on Bella and blew up at her. Sometimes, stress makes people say and do stupid things.

The fact that she knows how devastating it would be for Edward if she told him only to take it back later, just proves that if she doesn't love him yet, she's absolutely on her way to it! And I loved the Rosalie/Emmett interaction. A lot of people think Emmett's just an idiot ignoramus, but I love that he has clearly thought (long and hard) about his plans after graduation and how they effect Rosalie, too.

It is absolutely NOT weird to be proud of Bella. That just means I'm writing this well enough for you to get invested in the character! Emmett is not an idiot by any stretch of the imagination. He just figures there's enough people taking life seriously around him and offers up the comedic relief! And what we saw in this chapter is just the tip of the iceberg of what he's been thinking about for his future with Rosalie. :)

Yep! She was absolutely over-thinking, just like Esme told her. That shows just how hurt Bella was by things going so wrong with the vile Mike Newton. She couldn't trust her heart at all with Edward and was trying to make her head figure it out, which never works right with Love - showing she truly is inexperienced in matters of the heart.

Sweet, sweet chapter - brought tears to my eyes. Bella actually opened up in a non-angry, non-swearing way. Hope to see her say "I love you, too" sometime soon now.
I am a little confused, tho, about how long she baby sat for Aaron. In Ch. 1, she said she had babysat for him for 3 straight years. Yet in this chapter? "I knew him for a little over a year before I had to start living life without him."
Also am very glad to find out that big secret of Bella's. Newton was SUCH a jerk. Have to say tho, my imagination did take me to pregnancies and botched up abortions. But this way is better, because now there really IS hope that with expensive treatments, she can still get pregnant. (Sorry, but I'm already got Bella and Edward married and being parents - I'm never happy with a chapter's end, so I just keep extending them in my mind in all different tangents. I like the way you and EA think and write better, tho.) Now, I'm kinda nervous, tho, because it seems that all we have left to learn is why Emmett and Edward don't get along and why Edward gets so tired and then the story will end. Not at all ready for that! Hope you've got lots more for us.

Yes! Very proud of Bella for really letting go and talking to Edward, putting donw her walls. Trust me! The story is not ending anytime soon. We have a lot in store for everyone and Emmett & Edward won't be revealing their issues with each other for a while. And we do have the Stella secret and seeing how Alice adapts to not being the center of Bella's attention. LOL

Great chapter (as always!) - You've been leaving clues that maybe more of Bella's secrets will be revealed soon. I have a few theories about some of them. I've had to go back and reread chapters to figure out who knows what. It seems Jasper and Rosalie know some secrets that Alice doesn't? I'm surprised by that. Also, I've been trying to tie together all the clues that have been dropped throughout the story. I'm thinking we'll hear more about Mike Newton? Been wishing I could get in your head awhile, tho, and see if I'm on track. (Also, getting updates would be easier that way!) - Still wondering (like Emmett) if Eward and Bella had their 'fun' after the tattoo! Can't wait to see how Esme and Carlisle react, altho I'm sure they'll be cool about it. Can't wait for next week's installment!

You're correct about Jasper & Rosalie knowing some things Alice doesn't, but neither realize they know b/c Bella didn't come right out and tell them. Rosalie saw some of it and Jasper heard a part, but doesn't know enough about Bella's past to put 2 and 2 together, so to speak.
I'm not sure if Mike will appear, but we will hear about him. LOL Yeah, you might want to talk to EA about rooting around in my head. I hear it's a scary place.
As for E&B having their fun, it didn't happen. Edward was feeling a little too good in Bella's mind and she didn't want to do anything he might regret - she took Alice's warning seriously, which made her all the angrier when Alice threw a fit.

I really liked this chapter - had lots of thoughts about it.
I like that Bella is losing some of her toughness and is even worried about "relationship codes". I feel bad, tho, that she's still getting teary worrying if she's good for Edward.
I like that Jasper is telling Emmett to shut up. He's starting to see that Em is overly annoying to Edward, too.
I like how Edward handled Bella's guilt. It didn't get into a serious discussion, he just smoothed her feelings.
There was a little Alice-Bella BFF interaction here - I'm hoping you put in more, cuz I like their friendship.
I read this chapter 4 times cuz I'm trying to figure out if I like hearing things from Edward's POV. For me, not really. I really like Halloween Edward and Bad Day Edward, and his POV seems to change my interpretation of him. But that's just me. I am really excited for the next chapter (cuz I read the tantalizing preview), and I really hope they don't break up (even if only for awhile) since Bella's freaking out about the lastingness of the relationship. But I am wondering what happened to make Edward snappy.

Yeah, Bella is growing into her relationship with Edward. It's still going to take her awhile before she really figures out her place, but she is trying.
Jasper tries to stay neutral as much as he can, but he also sees when neutrality will just leave Emmett thinking he has free reign.
Edward knew Bella was too tired for a serious discussion so his immediate focus was getting her to go to sleep. The talk is coming the next day, along with the explanation for his behavior.
Definitely more Alice showing her BFF skills with Bella coming up in future chapters.
The idea of his POV giving you a different opinion of him is the point of doing his POV at all. It's to show how differently Bella sees Edward from how he sees himself, and vice-versa. We'll only get a peak into his view during really important times and most not until after we have it all from Bella.
