Hey :)
Not offended at all. I know long waiting between updates can be confusing, but that's better than me just dropping this project. I couldn't, even if I wanted to... it's all in my head and I need to get it out, haha! ;)
As for the becoming a 'WE', they didn't. Not really. It's still not clear, most of the time Bella refer their new relationship with the words 'whatever is going on between us'. But to try to get clearer, at the end of chapter 24 (I promise I'm worthy) when they ~finally~ kiss goodnight, that's where they know they're going to be okay. The next chapter is the morning after, it's Bella POV who still has lots of doubt and don't want to tell the kids. And yet, at the end, she decide to just 'enjoy' being there with Edward, not overthinking everything.
This chapter is actually that same day. So they're still on their little bubble, not yet a official couple, but clearly happy to be together at the moment. Also, Bella realize she can't hide from her daughters who see and understand more than she gave them credit for. So she try to explain it to them (Emma, mostly.)

While yes this chapter was a little disappointing that nothing else happened between them it really was great. We now know Bella's fears and Edwards as well. I love that he wants to take her on a date. It's about time. Sure they have the girls who are their top priority but they need to make them a priority as well.
Congrats on the little girl. I'm sure she is born by now. And good luck on trying to find time to write. As I'm sure you are finding out it may be hard to find time to shower alone (I had started bring my daughter along, she loved it) let alone be able to string along whole sentences at one time.

Would he have really have succeeded that well if he had Bella and the children (a baby and a 5 year old) tying him down, he was a free agent, as so many of the women said, they didn’t even see him as a father.
It surprises me how often he travelled to and fro to visit the children, that must have cost plenty and he actually put more time in with this studying and travelling probably than he put into the law degree.
So he wasted his marriage, his family life and struggled because why, he couldn’t communicate or he needed to be ALONE to succeed

Emmett was supposed to know what went on before the divorce, I thought Edward didn’t even really know and Emmett had never met Bella, to take her measure.
You wonder with Rose and Emmett being super stickybeaks, imposing and all knowing that have never latched on to the fact that Edward was supposed to be broken-hearted because of the divorce and things between Bella and Edward had never been resolved or discussed.
Edward obviously only acts cool calm and collect and never really discuss anything personal with anybody. He helped Rose with her delivery saying the right things and spend weeks 24/7 looking into her contract but he could never bring himself to tell Bella that he loved her. With this unemotional demeanour she would have been frightened to make the first move.
Edward must have been keeping things from everyone, even himself.
I mean what he asked Bella to do was complete unreasonable. She was not even comfortable with him and she was supposed to move away from her whole support system and job. Bella shouldn’t have asked him to choose between music and his family but between sudden impulses and his family, that’s the way he presented it to her.
Rose interestingly describe Edward a very cocky but surprisingly Bella gushes to herself in one part, describing Edward as wonderful kind sweet etc, etc and I wonder when she saw that side of him and why she didn’t react to it at the time.
I guess he didn’t make the grand gesture and she kept misinterpreting then thwarting his small efforts.

Sorry I forgot to do the coffee cups last time because you deserve them, this is a great story.
I guess when they were together they got used to acting in a kind of role-playing way and didn’t want to act out of “the character” they thought the other was expecting for fear of rocking the boat so to speak. They were both so unsure of the other’s feelings, for example, when Edward came across to Bella’s table at the library, to interact with her, but she just made him think is was only about their daughter.
Now they accept that they don’t know each other now because of the 5 year separation so they are willing to gradually, with the help of their children, now with opinions of their own, to show the real them to each other.

She had the job, he was wasting his time, how did he propose they would live, she had two children to think about and he also said he was near to going back to her and taking the few weeks needed to complete his law studies and not make a mockery of the aspect that put a complete strain on their marriage.

It’s just weird that they never got closer in that 5 years they were together, even if they mostly had different schedules. There is such a thing as quality time even if it wasn’t quantity time, you would think they would have bonded more through their children.
But I guess, as I have skimmed and am now reading in detail, that Edward is a bit dense, even about what he thinks Tanya is accepting of, not really knowing how rejected she feels. Maybe, although Edward thinks he was all self-sacrificing, he is just a bit too self-centred. Except for his children, I really don’t know how he could have left Juliet as baby.

I honestly don’t see why her and the girls were the reason he continued until several week of finishing his degree. Then he leaves his little baby and 4 year old behind, because he can’t cope, with only one parent that is supposed to cope on her own. She used to it I suppose and how can she miss him, it seems they were never together as he seemed to be studying all the time anyway.
You would think after five years of being cut off from everyone, they would have used each other for a listening post at least, even forced cell mates or college room mates confide and converse with each other. Who else did they converse with?

Sam and Leah seem to be managing with life, marriage and children.
It seemed silly to me to have him studying but not being able to sleep in a bed and yet Renee was there to help!
Surely the children could have slept together; children get used to noise and usually sleep through it OR since Renee was there to help, the baby Bella and Renee could have been in the same room. Noise travels in small flats anyway; giving a separate room to a baby was a luxury they couldn’t afford.
I also think it was strange for Edward to actually sacrifice his relationship with Bella for this continual studying as she said “they” hardly saw him anyway, then say he was doing all he could for them but give it up at the 11th hour, it was a food’s errand really.
He not only sacrificed his love of music for the law degree but his marriage and quality time with his children, particularly Juliet. Also his sex life with his wife it would seem.
How did Bella manage so well when he left with only the her?
Just life I suppose, his heart really wasn’t in it.
