I can ssure you that Jessica has not learned her lesson. As to how Bella's family is involved it was kind of an accident, Charlie was an underling who rose up the ranks and became a trusted advisor to Carlisle's father. When Carlisle's father was killed he divided the dynasty between the two of them. I plan on writing a chapter that explains everything. Esme and Renee always HOPED that Bella and Edward would get married...so as any meddling mother(s) would do they started planning and dreaming. The choice was always theirs to make.
