While Klaus is preoccupied with his budding relationship with a newly transformed Bella, Elijah has stepped up to the plate and taken over most of Klaus' responsibilities within New Orleans, all while also playing peacemaker between the two volatile personalities.

With his focus split, things begin to fall through the cracks as more and more humans are found throughout the city in transition between lives. As Elijah begins to close the holes in Dave's vague retelling of the plan belonging to the mystery mastermind, and Niklaus all but useless, he is forced to use other means to protect what matters most.

But, when a pair of confused and terrified hazel eyes paralyze his actions, how will Elijah react when nobility fails and action is all he has?
