I'm going to take a wild stab at it and say that Demetri might be half human and vampire. He was bleeding and in the flashback Aro referred to him as a "mixed" kind. But I could be wrong b/c wouldn't the vampires be able to detect a hybrid's scent??? I'll go with the flow. I'm enthralled to see what you both have up your sleeves.
