Hi, not quite sure I am understandong what you mean. Edward didn't even know that Bella was pregnant when he chose to leave baseball. besides that they haven't made any kind o fpublic startments reguarding the fact that she is.
So maybe if you explain a little I can understand where your coming from.

After it all comes 'out in the wash' so to speak, he will have retired, have had a shotgun wedding (even though he planned to ask her before she became pregnant), girlfriend passing out at the airport & in the loo at his retirement party, etc. Most isn't public knowledge but in the public eye someone always knows or is willing to share information for the right price, so after the fact it could look like a case of "girlfriend forces his hand at retirement, et al" Love that it isn't and love that it could look that way too!
