Wow. Incest. This fic was recommended over on fanfiction.net, but I don't think I can take anymore "lessons" with Charlie and James.
I have a hard time believing that a17 yr old girl who comes from a normal and loving home would submit so easily to letting her father and brother molest and degrade her. I'd be looking for my chance to escape, but Bella just seems to have accepted this as something she's going to go along with.

That's the real heart of the story is that even though Edward is one of the villians in the story, he is also a victim. Not that it justifies his behavior at this point, but you feel a little sympathy for him so that you're willing to give him a chance as he struggles to change.

Over the years Carlisle's obsession with Renee and Bella became twisted by his growing hatred of Charlie having what he saw as his. The fact that he couldn't have Renee and as he watched Bella grow into a young woman he saw a second chance at having it all. He would have Bella 'the daughter' who should have been his by giving her to Edward and he would have Renee 'the woman he loved' thru Bella by sharing her since she looks so much like her mother. He's sick and he's found a way to justify his wants in his twisted mind.

I've read this story now in about a day and a half and I'm glad that there were already so many chapters up when I started reading.The beginning was a little hard to read,but it was definately worth going through the very hard parts.I simply couldn't stop reading then and I'm looking foward to more.I'm relived that the very dark themes aren't taken lightly;unfortunately the only thing I heard about the story before was that people were upset about Charlie and James raping Bella and I'm glad that I gave it a shot and to try and build my own opinion about it.You don't make it look acceptable and you don't make it look like Bella,Alice or Rosalie would recover just easily from the abuse so I think you approached it right and the negative stuff I heard about it before isn't justified.The extreme dark themes aren't everybody's cup of tea and that's ok.
It's good that Bella doesn't just fall in love after Edward took her away from Charlie right away and that Edward has to work and truly change for it to happen.The actions,the character's behaviour and feelings are very comprehensible and I guess that's one of the things I like most about the story,apart from the suspension about what will happen next.So all in all I wanted to say that I think this is a great story^^

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I know the beginning of the story is hard to read. It was very hard to write as well. I felt it was important to show just how bad it was with Charlie and James. Readers needed to see Edward as the 'hero' or 'lesser of two evils' when he came on the scene because, lets face it, he wasn't much better at that point.
The next chapter is going slower than I hoped to get written. I hope to have it finished by this weekend.
