Another winner! I do love the fact that Edwartd is beginning to realize the benefits of having a more than intelligent queen! He is'nt intimidated by her cunning and knowledge but accepts it with welcome ease and grace. I was sort of hoping Emmett would be going with her as well. The knowledge that he's a titled if barren royal, could be more than wonderful for him upon reaching England. He does have the future queen's ear...to say nothing of her heart!

I must say you are doing a very good job with writing in third person narration. It is unusual for a twi-fic, but it is a welcomed alternation.
Another thing that I really like is, that you try to write in old english, which means your use of words is not like we talk today and also not so vulgar or foul-mouthed, especially during the lemon. That was quite nice to read.

Thanks...it's difficult at times to keep the language right. I slip often into my modern colloquialisms and have to catch myself. At first the third person was hard to write, but now I'm having a hard time getting out of it. My other currently updating story, The Wallflower and The Flyboy is first person and I've had to go back and edit several chapters because I kept slipping back into third...lol. I'm finding I really enjoy writing in third person. It opens you up to so much more development of the understanding of what is going on around the characters when you can take sneak peeks into each of their thoughts as you develop the chapter. It's so much better than having to try to write the scene from another POV later if something important was happening in someone else's head and removes that repetitive feel. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the review!

Awe thank...I try :) Lets just say later it will be more along the lines of smut here and there. I wrote a very fun scene earlier this week of the newlyweds cleaning up ont he boat after a long dusty carriage ride to the coast from Segovia. LOL. I can't imagine losing my virginity with an audience, but that was life back them for the royals...and in times slightly earlier than this, it was standard throughout the aristocracy to HANG THE BLOODY SHEET OUT THE FREAKING WINDOW so everyone come see that the deed was done and the bride was virginal. Not anymore...but it was back then. Then in slightly earlier times all married couples were expected to hang the bloody sheets out the bedroom window to prove the consummation and bride's purity. Gross and humiliating right?

First of all, I'm glad all has been revealed. Whew! ::big sigh of relief::
Second, the wedding was great, but I really felt sorry for Bella as she walked down that aisle alone. I'm assuming the King is too important to do it, and must 'preside' and not 'perform'. Also, he's a jackass. Why couldn't her brother walk her down the aisle?
Third, Charles was irate, but why? He said it was because the public display was inappropriate, but is he just pissed that his daughter is happy? Has he always treated her like dirt because a) she wasn't a male; b) she was the one female in the kingdom off limits to him sexually; or c) he didn't like spending money on her?
I wonder how they'll handle the wedding night?

Well, of course I know that you're going to give us a happy ending, so of course Tony is really Edward. What makes the story interesting (besides the atmosphere of the period, which is wonderful) is how it will all come together.
I'm assuming that Alice recognized the tune Bella sang as being something unique to Edward.
It was a heartbreaking reality in those days that royal daughters left home, most likely never to return to the land of their birth, most likely never seeing their parents again. Not such a loss when it came to King Charles, but most definitely a sacrifice with Queen Renee.

Hi! I'm starting this story now! It's a very interesting period in history you're choosing. I'm so glad I don't live in those times. Beyond women's rights, beyond electricity, modern transportation, what I most value is simple: modern plumbing. Gah. I can't imagine how everything smelled back then. Did you know that the Courts would travel from Palace to Castle throughout the year (about every 2 months or so), to escape the filth that the family and the courtiers would cause, leaving the servants to clean it all up? Another reason for the moving around: stay in touch with the people, and keep an eye on powerful nobles.
Court politics in this age were so complex, too. Get in too deep on the wrong side, and you forfeited your life. That was the one advantage of being a foreign princess: your husband couldn't behead you for fear your birth country would wage war. In the meantime, you could play politics, and find a way to have mistresses banished or beheaded. Queen Renee must be too sweet for her own good, or perhaps she's relieved to have her husband take matters elsewhere.
We're so lucky to have modern knowledge of disease and sterile environments, too. The risk of dying after childbirth due to infections of the perineum were horrendous. Also, clean water was scarce, so they drank wine with almost every meal. They hadn't figured out yet about the benefits of boiling water. Later, that's why people drank tea so much.
I'm looking forward to reading more.
