Bella needs to stop beating herself up every time her legs spasm or give out. This is a long road to recovery. And Edward needs to stop thinking so little of himself! Plus, if Bella pays for his college, that gets him into a career earlier, and if his pride needs to pay her back, then he can. Simple as.

Things are moving right along here. I sure hope Esme doesn't wriggle out of any of these charges. Sounds like her brother would not be a credible witness either for or against her! Hopefully they can tie some of his business to her for another charge against her.  I really hate the way Charlie treated his daughter. He doesn't deserve her and I hope he changes. Love the cuddling between Edward and Bella. The rest will come with time.  Now it's time to nail Esme! Good work here!

I'm happy that Bella's rehab is going so well. I'm really glad that Edward is taking self defense and regaining his strength. Hopefully the self defense will give a little bit of comfort to know that he will be able to protect himself. I can't wait for Bella to testify for the grand jury. I hope seeing Esme doesn't undo all of Edward's progress. I like the idea of Bella branching out on her own out from under her father's rule. I can't wait for the next chapter. Til next time...

Progress has its own timetable depending on the severity of the injury. But they are moving forward.
Any setbacks on the horizon for Edward during the trial? Or will he rise to the occasion and find his inner mountain lion?
Charlie is very shallow in his perspective of Bella and her responsibility towards the Swan name in business.
She will find her own way though. As long as Rose and Edward are by her side.
Maybe she can collaborate with Jake.

Charlie needs to place his anger where it's due. His anger, though...it is misplaced out of love and loyalty to his daughter, or could it be misplaced guilt, because he knew about Esmes company? Had he used her services in the past, and is battling an overwhelming feeling of guilt after learning that Esmes employees were simply modern day sex slaves? THAT would make more sense to me than any other 'reason' for his behavior.

Yay Bella has movement! Just to give you a little background on my experience with this type injury, you may have your own experience but if you don't and you'd like to use mine as reference that's perfectly fine or don't that's fine too lol.  My husband received a similar spinal injury when he was swimming through a shallow dive one evening at a friends pool. As he swam through he bumped into the pool wall and sustained a C4 fracture paralyzingly him from the nipple line down.  We luckily realized what happened and got him to the surface before he drowned.  When we got him stabilized and called 911 I asked if he could move his legs. He thought I was being silly and said "of course I can move my legs"...... I looked down and there was no movement and told him so. He proceeded to curse.  I had a suspicion and was going on pure hope and prayer so I asked him To close his eyes and tell me which toe Ed, who was holding his feet, was touching and he was able to tell me everywhere Ed touched him. I was relieved that at least I knew something was there.  After a night in the hospital ER he was put in ICU where I had to demand they put SCD hose on him, I'm an ICU nurse myself and was not about to add blood clots to the mix.  CT and MRI's showed a fracture but due to swelling we weren't sure how much if any actuall damage was done to the spinal column. We would have to wait for swelling to go down and movement to return gradually. They didn't do surgery at this point but ended up doing it later on anyway. He just had to wear a C-collar.  To my surprise and utter fear they stood him up the very next day. Of course the physical therapist did all the work but that was the beginning of his recovery. Day by day he started getting a little more movement back by the end of the week he was in a rehab facility.  He had to relearn how to do everything as swelling went down things came back quickly but they came back weak. He had to learn how to sit up, dress and feed himself, push a wheelchair, stand and eventually walk. Through all this he was also doing strength exercises.  One thing that was a biggy was learning how to get in and out of a vehicle. They actually had half a car set up in the therapy room for people to learn this. You have to be able to get in and out of a car to leave the facility they said.  I'll never forget watching him walk on his own for the first time with a walker, feet bumping together, terrified he'd fall but he didn't and after a month he was able to come home on a walker and continue therapy through outpatient. 4 months later he was back to work. He is about 98%. He has weakness on one side of his body and cold/hot sensitivity on the other, walks with a limp that's worse in cold weather and has limited use of his left hand. He's a verY lucky man.

Oooh! Charlie is in T-rouble!!! LOL Responsive feet and feeling are GOOD signs. Somehow, I suspect she will recover more quickly than they are anticipating. She has some great reasons to be motivated.

Dr. Benson has been an immense aid to Edward's mental awareness and recovery. She bolsters his spirit.
Rose and Bella are a formidable force when steamrolling someone. Charlie will be in the hot seat soon.
Peter is another great asset in Edward's corner.

Charlie's gonna be in so much TROUBLE! Bella's gonna ream the old old one til he needs a new one then ream it. Serves him right. I get he's concerned but that was overboard. He better come around or he could end up losing a daughter. Edward will be there thru every step of her recovery, I'm sure.

Charlie is going to get his ass kicked when Bella finds out what he has done to Edward.

I hate this Charlie.  He ignores Bella most of the time. Now he tries to act like a concerned father and hurts Edward,  which will hurt Bella.  She snuck off to get Esme.  She is the only one  who put her in that situation and Esme is the only one at fault.  Edward will get there if he has time to heal and to deal with all the changes. He has had no time to do either before each attack. Charlies's was so unecessary. 

I'm so glad Rose is taking charge for Bella. I hope Edward listens to what Rose said and thinks long and hard about what she said. Edward and Bella both have a long recovery ahead for them both, but together they can make it down that long bumpy road!

Glad Rose was there for Edward.

I want to smack Charlie, for sure, but I'm cutting Edward some slack. He has PTSD. He needs to be guided back to a place where he no longer blames himself for this stuff. He needs Bella. She would NEVER blame him. These two need a chance to heal so they can love each other again. I trust you to give them that!

I don't blame him for being pissed. Moms take care of their children.  They toughen up and get through bad times. We don't fold in on ourselves. She is such a weak woman and doesn't deserve to be called a mom. Mom's are tough.

As a father I think it was natural for Charlie to explode, and a bit of that worry and anger was rightly directed at Edward BUT that's not about Bella's condition but fear to loose his daughter in general... 

Edward being brave enough to go with Charlie in the first place though shows he's neither weak nor a coward! And after all he was through already the reaction to Charlie getting innhis face like that - who could blame him?!

Ok, what Charlie said was way over the line.  That sounded like something one of Edward's abusers would have said to him.  There was more there than just Charlie being worried about his daughter.  I hope somehow Bella heard what Charlie said and is as disgusted as I am.  Please update soon!

Too much too soon. Edward's PTSD kicks into physical and emotional shutdown mode when confronted with an aggressor.
Chuck needs to be restrained. Maybe even shown just a portion of the tortures Edward has endured. That might change Chuck's perspective.

Charlie hasn't been there for Bella in forever.  Edward was in an impossible situation. What the hell gives Charlie the right to attack him?! Reopening his stitches will cause more scarring and higher risk of infection. 

That. Was. Assault!  He is no better than the bitch that put Edward AND Bella into the hospital. It was BITCHME, not Edward, who caused ALL of it!!! 

yea Charlie is a dick!!! Bella will take care of him as soon as she wakes up!!
