I don't understand why Edward doesn't want to stay with Bella at the hotel. It's a room, inside, out of the rain and the elements and it'll probably have a shower as well. He needs to get out of the rain just as much as she does. Besides, it seems that she's finally starting to open up to him. I would think he'd want to keep that going, without her clamming up again.

Did you learn Italian or did you use a translator? I'm just curious(sp?). I may have lived in Italy for three years but I didn't bother to learn. Italians where I lived weren't nice so I didn't realy care what they said.
I wonder if she is Italian or if she lived there a while and picked up the language. I can only imagine what her parents have done for her to be so resentful of them.
I think Edward is safe to ask her age though.I'm only saying this because I'm curious how old she is lol.
It's weird how Edward claims for the streets to be worse on girls and it's not safe. Then turns around and considers leaving her alone by this coming summer without a thought on how she will actually survive.
I also find it odd that he wants to find out things about her but doesn't really want to tell her anything.Besides his interest of course. Which if he wants her to speak up he should probably ask her about her interest rather then her past.Going straigt into it like that can't be helping him.
I wonder what that third man jerk thought he was doing when he kept watch of Edward and Bella. And to get pissed off like that. Something was up there.

I am Italian and have been there, but I speak very very little, I mean, very little lol. Google helped me with all the translations :)
We will learn about Bella's past and age through EPOV, it will just take some time for her to open up. And yes, Edward does contradict himself about being willing to leave her, it's just because he feels he isn't responsible for her, he is a bit of a loner. But we both know I won't let him leave her lol :)
He isn't asking more about her interests and what not, because he really doesn't want to become attached to her. He want's to know what happened so he can find a way to get her help and move on. The more the chapters go, the more sense it will all make :)

Eventhough she is following him around, it's very nice of Edward to be helping Bella out like he is. Giving her food, getting her out of the rain, giving her his jacket. Something bad obviously happened to her and I think he's starting to realize that himself.
