I'm guessing it was Laurent who found him. It seems that maybe Laurent was a guard against his will. Kinda join up or become a slave. He must have had to sacrifice his love or something traumatic. That's why he feltnhe had to help Edward et al. He still had his humanity left. Maybe seeking forgiveness in himself for what he had done.
I hope the baby survives. There is a high miscarriage rate but it's not 100% so there is still hope.
Poor Edward. Hoping he gets the help he so desperately needs and come around. I was pretty pissed at him but after this, my heart aches...him trying to be so strong for everyone else that he's forgotten to take care of himself. Maybe Bella will be his savior like he was everyone elses.

If he leaves Bella AND the baby, I will lose all respect for him. What really needs to happen is that he tell Bella what he did so that he can begin to absolve himself of the guilt he feels. In the end, he saved so many lives by ending theirs. Not to say that murder is right, but I still call it self defense- if any of the guards had gotten out, they'd all be dead. And there is no one in that camp that would ever turn Edward in. No way. E needs some serious therapy. You and I know this, but Edward doesn't. All the stress and strain has caused our beautiful boy to snap. He does need serious therapy, but no one realizes that yet, certainly not Edward himself. Mental issues, such as depression, are sneaky. For example, I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression many years ago. Do you know what brought about my diagnosis? I thought I had an inner ear infection. I was suffering from dizziness and nausea, and went to the doctor. It was only when I actually told the doc about my physical symptoms that I began crying, for what I thought was no reason; I mean, it is just silly to cry about an ear infection, right? He then asked me about everything that was going on with me... sleep habits, eating habits, etc... Out of a checklist of 20 symptoms of depression, I had 18. The only things missing were suicidal and homocidal tendencies. My family didn't know anything was wrong. My husband just saw the same symptoms that I did, and also assumed a physical cause. My coworkers simply avoided me; they didn't give a shit. Come to find out, it was the damn job that had stressed me to the point of depression.
And self-sacrifice is part of it. I couldn't see a psychiatrist for 6 weeks, as they were all booked up. My doc knew I needed help much sooner than that, and asked if I would go into the hospital, to relax and get help, he said. I refused. I thought there were many more people who needed a hospital bed worse than I did. Thank goodness they had an outpatient program, and I accepted that; I got to see the psychiatrist 2 days later at the hospital.
What I'm saying is, you don't know when you need mental help usually, and unless it is really horrible, neither do your loved ones.

Thanks for all of your reviews. Yes, I like the way he calls her 'my Bella', too, and he's just so damn sweet and protective... even to the point of being a self-sacrificing idiot about it. But sometimes that's what love does to people, especially with such an emotional creature as our dear Edward. The crying for his wife scene had me near tears, too, and I wrote the darn thing, lol! As for Charlie, well, he is a lawman, and Edward feels that he would be very disappointed, plus knowing Edward is capable of such a thing makes Edward feel that Charlie would never trust him with Bella again. Edward is a very emotional and passionate man, and he has been stressed to the breaking point (remember, he actually did snap for a while there); he is more irrational than usual.
I am so glad you are enjoying the story, and I hope you like how it all plays out.

I couldn't watch the thing again; I sent it right back to netflix. I knew where he was when I saw the date on the chalkboard, and then when it showed how high he was... I knew there was no hope. Some of the most awful moments in movie history, and it just about made the rest of the movie seem frivolous. I guess that was perhaps intentional, to show that no matter the problem, it pales in comparison to that. I've seen other movies dealing with the same event, but none really brought it to life for me like this one.
