You have no idea how much I loved your awesome story! It really took me back to some of the best years of my life, along with the early 90's. I graduated in 1981 so I was very in tune with your story.
I can't possibly list all the things that really stood out for me; so many things brought back great memories. I laughed so hard at the mention of PeeChees,(I loved those!)and Walkmans,(imagine no i-pods or mp3 players)and the music; I was a rocker, but I also liked a few of Madonna's songs,(Crazy for you was a favorite)the mention of Bella in typing class blew me away,(I'd forgotten that we used electric IBM machines or the old style where you had to hit the return yourself, at my school anyway)and of course there's tons more but this review would be a novel so I'll say one more thing; I loved Molly Ringwald! I have PIP, TBC, and SC. As far as I'm concerned, those were her best 3, and I still watch them sometimes.
I'm so glad you wrote this, and I'm glad I stumbled across it; I don't know how I missed it because I had a lot of your stories fav'd and I'm pretty sure I have you as one of favorite authors. OMG this was great and I think you did John Huges damn proud. Of course I went to high school in the early 90s so things hadn't changed too much yet so this really made me think of my days in high school. I kept picturing the people from those groups in my school as I read. I loved it and am happy to see that you did place in the contest :)
