I can understand why Bella kept Alex away from Lauren. It was probably the best thing for all. I think that know that she has cleaned up her act. Bella can slowly talk to Alex about her since he has met her. They can slowly build a relationship. Bella is stronger now that she has Edward and Alex is old enough to talk. He can say if something is not going right. At some point he is going to have to know his whole paternal family history. He will need to know about the alchohol problem so he won't develop one himself.
