I know Edward should have had more faith in her and explain himself but we know he doesn't always think straight when it comes to Bella. Having Rose as the big sister came in handy here. Bella found out the reason Edward is being so protective and she didn't have to fight with him over it.

I wanted Charlie to meet Edward before their first date and I also wanted to get Jacob & Billy's meetings over with so I combined both of their scenes from the book into one.
