Bella doesn't realize it yet but Edward does. Nope! No one on the crew will take interest in any of the MMR crew members outside of working together.

I agree - In many ways, Lee understands Bella better because she can see a lot of similarity in Bella and Edward's struggle to figure each other out that she personally went through with Emmett. Lee was much more like Edward when she first met Emmett and that caused a lot of friction between them because Emmett is so laid back and ready to love people.
We are extremely excited to get the next chapter out to all of you - So much good things happen between Edward and Bella and it really changes the course of the chapters that come after it.

If Edward trusts Lee's judgments during an exercise in the waters, why doesn't he trust her observation skills regarding Bella's needs and ability to push through a difficult situation?
Did E&B resolve anything on the beach other than the strong physical attraction remains intact? Maybe the agreement to help each other with their shortcomings; Edward's people skills and her shark knowledge but nothing concrete was decided.
I think Esme needs to just come right out and say what she means. Poor Edward is clueless when it comes to balancing his emotions for Bella and helping her understand the pain/fear of her past losses. The 70/30% talk didn't go in his favor.

It's not that Edward doesn't trust Lee. It's that he feels so personally responsible for Bella that he would rather it be his fault a wrong call was made than Lee's. Plus, Edward knows that Lee is only seeing glimpses of Bella's issues because the two women haven't spent much time together yet.
The agreement to help each other was the first step in Edward admitting that he does need help in relating to Bella. It's the solid base he needs for the actions he's going to take in the very next chapter.
Esme cannot come right out and say what she means because Edward will stubbornly refuse to listen if she does that. She knows her best bet with him is to give him things to think about and let him work out what he wants them to mean for himself. You'll see in the next chapter that Esme's talk with him tonight makes him behave very differently tomorrow.

Oh for crying out loud! Mase was doing so well in being patient and understanding with Bella, then he goes and shows that quick temper of his. It was an accident, and she didn't know about 'his' room; I understand that he was devastated, but he went overboard. I think he was not only upset about his prototype, but that he was going to tell Bella about his feelings for her and the accident just gave him another excuse not to. Or something like that.
Now as far as Whit goes, Edward has his head up his ass. Again I think it's another excuse not to tell Bella how he feels about her. How can he think that Bella and Whit are anything but friends, when Whit is his best friend and knows how Mase feels about Bella, and how much Whit has been pushing him about coming clean about his feelings for her. Plus, you can't tell me that Edward doesn't see even a hint of how Bella reacts to him.
Well I suppose it could go either way in regards to who is to 'mentor' Bella from now on. Edward could keep doing it, and be totally professional and only be professionally polite or he'll hand her off to Whit and then act like it doesn't bother him. Either way, he will probably revert to his cranky old self. If this is so, I can't wait for things to blow up in his face when he's called out on it. One thing is for sure, poor Guppy will no doubt be confused to say the least, depending on which way Mase decides.

We did watch Shark Week!! That first night I couldn't go to sleep because I was soooo amped up from it! EA had a good laugh at me the next day for being ridiculously zombie-fied. LOL We did also watch Shark Wranglers. It was wonderful to see them working so hard to research sharks to help them. We are going are actually going to have a crew similar to Oceania be stationed in South Africa and invite MMR to work with them.

Esme is an amazing stabilizing force in his life yet she knows he feels short changed by missing out having his actual parents around.

Edward missed another change to turn things around with Bella. Glad she forced the issue of his wafffeling actions.

Ahhh - my heart is actually hurting for these two! I wish Mase would just tell her how he feels, admitting it to himself first. Now, he's going to do something stupid but hopefully Whit will realize and pull Mase's head out of his ass for him. Then to top it off, everything Bella is going through with her fear as well!
I've always loved this story, but about halfway through today's I realized just how much. It is so well-written, with the descriptions but especially the emotions. It's amazing just how much I feel every time I read another chapter. I also came to realize that it's going to be slow burn!
I truly hope that real life doesn't keep you away too long and that whatever it is, is better soon. I will definitely miss you & the story, and look forward to when you are able to come back. Thank you for sharing this amazing story!!

I could feel the tension in my own body as Bella gripped that door frame, and the relaxation start has Mase talked her down from it. I even felt the excitement as they talked about the day at dinner. Definetly love the Edward spew. Love that he hung himself without her saying a single word! Think this is one of my favorite Esme's ever. Did check out the frig and room pic and they were perfect. Thank you for this story - Cheri

Thanks, Cheri! We are happily surprised and pleased with how well this version of Esme is being received. We weren't sure since she's typically older and acting more mature than the others. I'm enjoying getting to write her having the occasional immature moment :)

A mother's secret - don't say anything and they are bound to spill more than they ever wanted to! I laughed out loud during that scene. I loved them all, though I might have a special place in my heart for Masen's 'priorities' and the slow shift he doesn't see happening! I was so excited to see this update. Hope Lee doesn't make things too terribly difficult for Bella to become an active team member.
Jasper's shark attack surprised me.
Edward is very astute in his observations regarding Bella's nervous habits. Too bad he can't figure out his own nervous traits and observant manner that his team members are picking up from him.

I love this story, so glad that your back with another chapter. So glad to see that Edward is realizing that he can help Bella, and that he too over reacted to what happened in the interactive exhibit; Lee on the other hand is being a hard ass, and I think when she learns Bella's secret she will feel bad she has been acting this way. Perhaps my interupation is incorrect, but I hope Lee will wise up and warm up too! Edward is still fighting his feelings for her. I don't personally think that it's Bella that Whit is dreaming about, I think it's Alice.....
Loved the chapter, ready for more when you have it available.... have a good one. Kathy

Bella is struggling with so many things right now. The lack of family readily available with all the comforts from back home; her attraction to Edward and his waffling behavior towards her; the deep seeded fear of sharks, that I'm presuming took the lives of her parents.
All of these things have her nerves on high alert.
Impressed with Edwards evaluation of the days events and how he was the first to speak up. Giving her the chance to redeem herself in time.
Wonder how Whit will respond to Edward's inquiries as to the bond between him and Bella?

Thank you for the update!! A lot of stuff happened in this chapter...some good, some bad for E&B, but I loved it all! I can't wait to see what happens next...will they finally be on their way?
