Hi I had tried to pm you but it was disabled, I was caught off guard by what you just said about your baby. I have never posted before about your personal life because i know these things have happened months ago, but this one i couldn't ignore.
I was told I had eosinophilic esophagitis 2 years ago. I have life long asthma, allergies to every tree, moss, animal and such but around the time I got pregnant I started having horrible reactions to foods that I have never had a problem with. I just thought it was due to my pregnancy. Then I started having more problem with food getting stuck still didn't think much of it, you know eating fast because of my daughter things like that. I also have a horrible calcium decency and cysts in my mouth that caused problems with my teeth, so I bruised that off as well. It wasn't until I had a complete blockage of my esophagus and was hospitalized that we discovered the problem.
The normal adult esophagus is around 20cm wide, mine was at 11 because of the rings caused by EE. I also have a hiatal hernia which does wonders for my asthma. I was told to get allergy tested again and it came back that I am allergic to peanuts, dairy, and soy. Things that I have eaten all my life. I had noticed signs but I mistook not being able to breath with my asthma not my esophagus closing up. I take allergy medicine 2 times a day and my one asthma medication has a allergin in it as well, which my doctor believes is why I never went in full anaphylactic shock.
I have had my esophagus widened twice as of my last endoscopy, I've had 6, my esophagus is at a 16. If your son does have this and you would like to talk to someone that has it as well and can maybe answer any questions you may have please feel free to message me. I hope the little guy is alright.
