I'm glad that Carlisle cleared the court, at least for now. Sometimes it's better to keep your nobles close, so that you can keep an eye on them. Then again, with a killer on the loose, and an apparent conspiracy, it's better to get them out of the way.
I'm so proud of Bella. The other royal ladies already look to her for leadership. I can't wait to see what she cooks up.
As for her confusion when she pondered the European map: she thought there was a hole in their intelligence. Could Tanya and company, or another conspiracy, be leaking information to France? Perhaps someone who is unhappy with the Spanish alliance? Perhaps someone who'd like to see Carlisle and his family overthrown?

Holy Crap, I hate period pieces, which is why I didn't start this sooner. But wow, this is awesome. You wrote it incredibly well, I can't even imagine how difficult this must be to write. This is such a beautiful, romantic love story. Aw. Her father has to go...sending him mistresses so he could cheat on his daughter, disliking his daughter because she's a woman. Now, he's mad because she snuck out and fell in love?...what an ass.
I have to laugh though, do you follow the 'top 10 most reviewed story list'? You are #5. You keep battling back and forth with that 'explosive encounter' story, each swapping time at 5 or 6. Ha, I happen to be one of the authors to that story, lol.
But, this story is beautiful and deserves every review it gets.

I'm adding a little to my original review, which appears on ff.net. Something I forgot to add.
If Edward and Carlisle for some reason were not to take care of the Tanya situation, it could be dangerous for the alliance between Spain and England. Of course, I know that E and C aren't letting that fact motivate them, because they adore Bella. However, to call into question the chastity (outside of marriage) and faithfulness of Bella could really get Tanya into trouble in the international community. That's one of the reasons why queens and princesses would have constant companionship, even when sleeping. Once the marriage had been proven (wedding night), it was for the woman's own protection to always have a few of her trusted ladies with her when her husband was not there.
Off with Tanya's head. Off with her family's heads. I know it probably won't happen, because Carlisle and Bella are very gracious, but still, I want it to happen. I must be bloodthirsty.
