This story is great so far. There's still quite a few English words and sayings but I guess that since this story takes place in England it's okay. I'm a New Yorker, but I can pretty much figure out what you mean. I hope you keep writing this. I can't wait to see what happens next and I can't even imagine Jakes reaction to her leaving. It should be good.
