I'm enjoying the story...there is just one thing that is nagging me and it isn't even a big thing to the story.
Is the setting MIT in Cambridge MA? If so....you really should consider changing it to another university if only to hold to reality a bit. MIT isn't a liberal arts university, they are scientific only...so engineering, chemistry etc. Other choices could be Leslie, Boston University, Harvard, Simmons, Suffolk, Emmanuel, Northeastern...being from Boston, it was bugging me.

About the MIT issue, I did do some research on MIT University before placing it in the story and there is an MIT school of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences. There is an undergraduate course in Literature listed there the last time I checked on the MIT website.
