Oh Dishie, you worry too much about whether or not your readers will be mad at you. I can't speak for anyone else, but I read this chapter KNOWING that this would happen. You warned us with the teaser. Yes, it's an evil cliffie, but those are the kinds of things that make a story worthwhile, IMHO. It's very clever of you to make it happen this way. She doesn't recognize it from his touch, she sees him going into THAT building and, although the gut feelings start to build, she goes to confront him anyway!! I have a feeling that you will somehow add forgiveness to the mix here, maybe in a chapter or five.....You write it beautifully and I hate to see the doubt you express about that when you are so afraid of what people will think. I love it.
