The Volturi has something to do with Starks twins! That's why they are so quick to learn, adapt to the fighting, seem relatively unphased by the world they live in, surrounded by bodyguards.
How did they set Edward up with the surrogate......Tanya (if I remember correctly from past chapters)?
This changes so much. No wonder the kids took to Bella like a big sister. They share some of the same traits.
At first I thought that maybe Hawk was a plant or was injected with the serum like Charlie. Which still may be the case but it doesn't explain Bella's out rage and elevated heart rate. Like that of a very over protective mother.

When she was training them she thought they could fight better than some adults. That is what's got me thinking that.
