This story take place before the great revelation. A kitchen fire destroyed Merlotte forcing Sookie to find a new job. Initially intrigued by the silent mind of her boss, Sookie takes a job at Salon Rouge, Eric’s bar. As Sookie and Eric’s relationship evolves, she soon realizes, Eric is not only different, he is not human.

This fic is rated R for sexual content, violence and crude language.

Summary: Having learned that there is a spell that could break the bond between her and Eric, Sookie is gung ho to do it; however, in this version of events, Amelia proves herself to be a true friend by making sure that Sookie has thought things through fully—with a little help from a certain Viking vampire.
