"Mr. Williamson." Her voice is low and calm as to not wake Bella up, but there's no hiding the fury in it. "Is that he brought her home. This young man saved her, and you'd do well to remember that. Another thing you should remember is that this young lady is over eighteen, so you have no parental rights over her. Until she says different, this is her fiancé, and if you don't like it... well, you can just leave."
Flustered, she checks Bella's IV and temperature. She walks over and grabs my free hand placing it on a button on the bed.
"You just push that button, and I'll be right back in here," she promises. "I've talked to Carlisle and most of the town's a buzz. You've done a good thing by her, and don't let anyone tell you different." She gives me a smile, throwing a nasty look Charlie's way she leaves the room.

Charlie's eyes widened.
"So, you could possibly be gone for the whole summer?" he asked as he swallowed back his anxiety. He hadn't gone more than two weeks without seeing Bella or Jack for the past five years. Even then, most of the time they were only about a two hour drive away. Two and a half months suddenly seemed like an eternity to him.

Esme's gaze went back and forth between Bella and Jack. She could clearly see the love that wound between the two of them and a million questions started to swirl around her.
"How?" she asked, as tears started to trickle from her verdant eyes. "What happened? How did you find him? How long have you known we were his family?" Both she and Carlisle looked at Bella expectantly.
"It's very long story," Bella chuckled, humorlessly. "Let me start at the beginning."
Bella started to tell the Cullen her tale, starting with finding Jack in the alley and taking him to the police station. She didn't get very far. They were interrupted with the sound of the front door opening and a loud voice calling out of the foyer.
"Mom! We're here!"
Bella felt something tighten in her stomach as she prepared to come face to face with Jack's father. Her nerves were at an all-time high and she briefly wondered if Dr. Cullen could prescribe her something to help prevent an ulcer from forming.

He started sobbing and Bella wrapped him in her arms. He rested his head on her shoulder and cried his heart out. After a few minutes, she felt his breathing even out and she looked down to see his face peaceful and asleep. Her heart ached after hearing his story. She brushed a piece of hair across his forehead and gazed at him, noting that he looked like an angel as he slept. An exact replica of his son, who had cemented himself into her heart five years earlier. She reached next to her and turn off the lamp and settled into a more comfortable position, with Edward's head still resting on her shoulder and her arm wrapped around him.
She closed her eyes and sent a silent prayer above that this older version of Jack would leave her heart intact when it was time for them to go back to Washington.

The pair got lost in each other's eyes until they were interrupted by the pounding of feet on steps.
Jack skidded to a halt in the hallway at the top of the stairs. He looked between his parents curiously, not quite sure what to make of them standing so close to each other. He walked over to his mother's side and looked up at his father.
"Is everything okay here, Mom?" he asked Bella, while never taking his eyes off of Edward.
Bella suppressed a giggle at Jack's attempt at bravado. She placed a hand on her son's shoulder, which caused him to look up at her. She smiled at him and nodded.
"Everything is just fine, Jack. We were just about to head outside."

Bella sat down next to Edward on one of the front porch swings. She turned and leaned her back against the side, pulling her right leg up and underneath of her. He turned his head slightly and smirked at her.
"How does it feel to be an old man?" she asked, trying to hide her smile.
He smiled widely and shook his head. "I'm not old."
Bella laughed and shook her head. She noticed that his smile fell as he stared off into the sunset. She nudged him with her foot and he turned to give her a small, sad smile.
"In my mind, I feel like I'm still 22," he sighed. "I haven't really celebrated a birthday in almost five years."

Bella laughed brightly during their back and forth banter, but noticed Emmett's stiff posture out of the corner of her eye. She bit her lip and decided that there was no time like the present to find out just what his problem was. She looked up into Edward's face and smiled.
"Do you think you could go check on Jack, to make sure he remembers his helmet and pads? He has a tendency to forget things when he gets excited."
Edward nodded and grinned before turning and heading up the stairs. When he was out of sight, she whirled to face Emmett and put her hands on her hips.
"What is your problem?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," he replied in a voice as blank as his face. She narrowed her eyes and took a step forward, so she wouldn't have to raise her voice.
"Yes, yes you do. I want to know what problem you have with me, that makes you feel the need to glower at the back of my head whenever you don't think I'm looking. Pretty soon Edward or Jack are going to notice, too, and I'll be damned if I let that happen. Both of them have already been hurt too much without adding you to the pile."

Haven't you thought of what it would do to Jack if she just left him here? Trust me, no one wants Jack to leave their sights ever again more than I do, but in his eyes, Bella is his mom. Anyone with eyes can see that. Forcing them apart will only shatter his heart. He's already been through more than anyone should have to deal with, especially a child. For Christ's sake, Em, what do I have to do to get through to you? You need to apologize to her. Right now!"
"I'm not gonna lie, it hurt. Especially because I did nothing to deserve it. It was rude and unfair and just plain mean, Emmett. I can't forgive you right away, but give me a little time, okay? We can move forward from here. Edward was right, we're family now. Family means that nobody gets left behind or forgotten."
Emmett pushed her away and looked down at her with surprise on his splotchy face.
"Did you seriously just quote Lilo and Stich to me?" He asked incredulously.
Bella stepped away from him to allow him to straighten himself.
"I'm a mom to an eight year old. What's your excuse for knowing that's what it was from?" She winked at him and giggled.
"You can't see what everyone else does, sweetheart. While having Jack back in his life is a blessing that Edward had prayed for, you're the blessing that his mother prayed for before we lost Jack at all."
Bella swung her gaze at him and shot him a death glare, which immediately silenced him.
"Damn," Carlisle whispered, "she's good."
"Yeah, Mom can be scary when she wants to be," Jack piped in, not removing his eyes from the screen.

Jack curled up with Bella on the couch opposite of Edward, who was propped up with a ton of pillows. Her hand absentmindedly ran through the boy's hair and he hummed a contented sound. She heard a soft laugh come from Edward and looked up to see that he was smiling adoringly at her and Jack.
'Is it worth it?' She thought. 'Is potentially falling in love with him worth the heartache I'll feel at the end of the summer?'
His eyes moved up to hers and sent her a brilliant smile that made her breath catch in her throat.
The better question to have asked would have been, if it was even possible to avoid it happening any longer.

Esme's eyes turned hard and her lips formed a frown.
"Well, then, I guess there's nothing left to say, is there?" She said in a cold voice.
"Esme, please. I'm not trying to hurt you," Bella replied softly. She had expected this reaction, but it still stung.
"It's a little too late for that now, Bella." Esme stood from her spot behind her desk and silently left the room.

Bella wasn't even sure herself about where she stood with Esme at the moment, but she was about to draw a line in the sand. She raised her hand and knocked, before walking into the room.
Esme looked up from a stack of invoices that she had been going over and frowned when she saw Bella.
"Is there something you need, Bella?" she asked frostily.
Bella swallowed and walked over to stand in front of the desk. She looked straight in Esme's eyes and nodded.
"Yes, I need to speak you," she answered softly.
"Well, speak then." Esme raised an eyebrow and leaned back in chair to listen.
"First off, I wanted to apologize for this air of discomfort that has settled between us," Bella motioned her hand in the air between them, "I don't feel that I'm wrong in my position, and I can't apologize for standing my ground," she sighed.
Esme gazed at the younger girl blankly. Bella bit her lip and steeled her resolve.
"I think it would probably be best if Jack and I went to stay at a hotel for the time being. Since Alice and Jasper are leaving on Friday, we should be able to take over their room."
Esme's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. Tears formed in her eyes and she let out a small cry.
"No, Bella, please don't! I'm sorry if I've been acting childish, but I can't bring myself to accept that Marcus is being genuine. Please don't leave!"
Bella rushed over to Esme's side and took her hands.
"Esme, I wasn't suggesting that to hurt you or get back at you for anything. I didn't think it was fair for any of us to be dealing with this awkwardness, especially Jack. I just wanted to give you some space."
Esme stood and pulled Bella into a hug. "Please don't go," she whispered again. Bella nodded and held her tight. She had started to think of Esme as another mother-figure in her life, and as much as she felt Esme was wrong in this situation, she couldn't help but feel her heart ache at the thought of Esme hurting.
"Can we please just settle this then? I hate having you mad at me," Bella said softly.

Bella sighed and smiled, her eyes closed and facing the sky, as the classical notes of Tchaicovsky's 1812 Overture swirled around the air. She felt Edward's hand gently begin to play with her hair and she bit her lip to stifle a sigh. He had been nothing short of amazing today and she didn't want their date to come to a close any time soon.
She opened her eyes and turned her face slightly to the left.
Edward's fingers still held onto a strand of hair as he smiled down at her.
"Enjoying the concert?" he asked, in a low husky voice. She smiled widely and nodded happily.

"I love you," he said quietly, but full of emotion. She turned her body so that she was facing him and let the tears spring from her eyes as she looked up at him in astonishment.
"You do?"
"I truly do," he responded with a smile. She placed her lips against his in a soft, sweet kiss.
"I love you, too."
She rested her head against his chest and fell asleep listening to the steady drum of his heartbeat.

She glanced over at their table and felt her heart start to hammer and paranoia flow through her. Jack was was shaking and breathing erratically. She jerked herself away from Edward and rushed off to her son's side. Edward stood frozen for a minute, not understanding what the hell had just happened, but was quickly jarred into motion once he noticed Bella's destination.
She was at her son's side in an instant, running her hands over his face and arms, checking to see if anything was wrong physically. His breathing became increasingly labored and his eyes were wide as saucers. She grabbed his hands and rubbed them.
"Jack! Jack, sweetie, you need to calm down. Deep breaths, Little Bit. That's it, come back to mama," she soothed cooingly in his ear, while running her free hand through his hair. He turned his wide eyes to meet hers and opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out. He blinked and swallowed.
"What is it, baby? What's got you so upset?"
His eyes cast back towards the woman in a blue dress who was standing a few feet away, in front of their table, smirking at a livid Edward and Esme.
"Victoria," he whispered.

Bella's heart completely shattered as the listened to the distress in Jack's voice. In that moment, she could have committed murder and not thought twice about it. Victoria Preston deserved to be be sitting at the gates of Hades right now, waiting to have her soul judged. Bella kissed the top of Jack's head and rubbed his back.
"Ssh, baby. It's okay to be scared, but no one will let her hurt you. There's no force on Earth that will take you from us. Now that he has you back, your dad will move mountains to make sure you're safe, and you know that I would fight like hell for you. There's a very long line of people willing to stand between you and Victoria."

Bella wasn't sure exactly how to respond. Edward wanted to be the one to sit down and explain his desire to relocate to his parents. Plus, nothing was set in stone, like he himself has said. She decided to go with the partial truth.
"I was just thinking about Jack and Edward. I thought my life was complete with Jack, but Edward adds a whole other dimension. I can't picture our lives without him."

The music surrounded her, swirling like a tornado. Bella moved her hips and danced along side of Tanya's lithe body as she got lost in the sound.
"Excuse me," a deep voice spoke into her ear. She turned and saw a tall, handsome man smiling down at her.
"Would you care for a dance partner?" he asked.
"No thanks," Bella responded. "I'm fine with my friend."
He looked over her shoulder and nodded in that direction. "Looks like she found someone else."
Sure enough, when she looked, Tanya was dancing with a blond young man. She shook her head and laughed before turning back to the man.
"The answer is still no, but thanks for asking."
"Ah, come on. I'm alone and you're all by your self. What's the harm?"
"I think the lady declined your offer, pal," Edward spoke, sliding up against Bella from behind.

I'm so sad to see Parachute ending soon. It's been my baby for the past six months and I'm so thankful and grateful to each one onf you who has walked this journey with me! I'm not a big fan of angst or unnecessary drama, so our loose ends are starting to become tied up with Chapter 32. I only anticipate another 6 or so chapters before we're all finished. *sad face*

Victoria flew at Bella, pushing her forward as the other girl struggled.
"Stop it!" Victoria whispered. "Unless you want to fucking die, then keep right on fighting me."
Bella ceased to move and felt Victoria's hands pulling at the knot in the rope around her wrists. "Why are you helping me?" she asked in confusion.
"I may be a shitty mother, but I'm not a killer, Bella. We've got to get out of here. He's come unhinged."
"Really, Vicki? Is that what you think of me?" James voice echoed throughout the room.
Victoria froze just as the knot slipped away and Bella felt her hands come loose. She fought the fire in her shoulders and kept her hands together so that James wouldn't realize that she was free. Victoria's ice blue eyes were large with fear as she turned to face her lover.

She laughed, throwing her hands up in the air. "Oh no, not you, too!"
"What? Who said what?" Charlie laughed.
"Jack. On the very first day back home. He mentioned a baby brother," Bella replied, shaking her head.
Charlie nodded, biting his cheek to keep from laughing.
"Happy Birthday, baby," he murmured right next to her ear.
Thick, hot tears fell furiously down her face as Bella held him as if he were an apparition, waiting to disappear like a rainbow. He unlatched her legs and set her on the ground, before leaning down and kissing her gently once more. He pulled back and grinned, pulled something out his pocket, but the rain obscured her view.
Her chest almost exploded as he went down on one knee. He smiled up at her, rain pouring all around them, and held up a ring.

Parachute ~ Chapter 36 Teaser:
Bella stood, drenched head to toe, in the middle of her front lawn. Hot tears streamed down her face as the chilly rain pelted her skin. Her mouth was open slightly in shock, as she gazed down with wide eyes at the man she loved more than life itself. Edward's hopeful, joyous face grinned up at her from his stance on one knee. The ring held in his hand was a single brilliant diamond that was simple, yet elegant.
"Isabella Swan, I have been captivated by you since the moment I first laid eyes on you. That love only grew and expanded as I got to know you and saw first hand what a wonderful mother you are to our son. Forever could never be long enough for me, to feel like I've had long enough with you. Marry me?"
She covered her mouth and let out a sob, before throwing her arms around him and shouting, "Yes!"
They fell together, a mass a limbs and lips, their hearts beating both beating wildly. He pulled away slightly and pushed a lock of rain-saturated hair from her face.
"Let's go inside, please. I don't want you to catch a cold."
When they stood, his eyes were drawn to her white shirt, now completely plastered against her bare breasts, her nipples hard and straining against the fabric. His hand reached out to brush against her breast, causing her to become self conscious and cross her arms across her chest. She laughed lightly and nodded her head towards the house.
"Come on, let's get dry."
Edward let out a loud guffaw. "I'd rather keep you wet, love."
His hands wrapped around her waist and he pulled her back to his chest as they tumbled into the house. Sopping wet clothes soon littered the foyer floor and hands roamed greedily.
"Where is our bedroom?" he asked huskily, sweeping her into his arms.

Victoria POV Outtake ~ "In the End" teaser:
I won't ever be remembered for my common sense. I know most of you hate me and I'm fine with that. I deserve it. I was a bad, bad girl. For those of you who don't know my story, I'll start at the beginning.
My mother married my father for his money and power. When she'd finally had enough, she left and took half of his net worth, including me. He never seemed to mind. He sent an obscenely large support check once a month, but it always felt like a buy-off. Once he re-married and began a family with his new wife, our interactions were even fewer. Who knows how I would have turned out if he had made more of an effort? He's just as much to blame for my upbringing as my mother is. He knew how she was, yet he still didn't lift a finger to keep me.

He smirked and pulled them into a sitting position, sliding the diamond ring from his pinky finger. He had thankfully secured it there when Bella had thrown herself into his arms. He took her left hand and gently slid on the ring. She raised her hand, spreading her fingers and admiring the stone's beauty and brilliance.
"Edward, it's stunning," she murmured, breathlessly.
He smiled shyly. "It was my birth mother, Elizabeth's. Mom saved it for me, and it's been nestled away all of these years."
She glanced at him curiously. "You never gave it to Victoria?"
He reached and cupped her cheek. "No, Bella. It was always meant for you."
She glanced down at her ring and smiled. Not in any one of those scenarios did she ever imagine falling in love with Jack's father and planning a future together as husband and wife. At this moment, life was everything that she had always wanted, but never allowed herself to wish for. She knew, without a doubt, that they were where they were supposed to be now. All of their choices and actions led them here. This was the beginning of their happily ever after and she swore to herself not to take one moment for granted.
She quietly slipped into her pajamas and curled up next to Edward's sleeping form. He curled his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him, muttering her name quietly in his slumber. She clasped his hand with one of her own, a litany of prayer and thanks falling from her lips as she drifted asleep.

"You're grounded until you're thirty," she murmured against his hair.
"Understood," he chuckled softly.
"I'm serious," she yawned. "Wait until your father gets home."
Jack gulped audibly and nodded. "I know."
Soon, Bella's breathing evened out and soft snores filled the air. Jack's heart clenched and he truly felt horrible for lashing out at his mother. He had no idea what made him say the things he had. She had never been anything but good to him and proved her love over and over again. The phone chirped next to him and he answered it quickly, not wanting to wake her up just yet.
"Hello?" he asked softly.
"JACKSON CHARLES CULLEN! What is wrong with you, boy? Why would say something like that to your mother?" his father's voice boomed from the phone's speaker.
"Shh, Dad, please quiet down," he replied in a hushed voice.
"Quiet down?" Edward yelled. "Are you seriously telling me to be quiet? Boy, have you lost your mind?"
"No, Dad, please," Jack whispered, "Mom is sleeping next to me."
Date: 04 Feb 2011 Title: Chapter 38: Epilogue

Bella awoke several hours later, feeling overly warm and with a heaviness upon her stomach. She blinked her eyes open slowly and smiled down at Jack's peaceful face, fast asleep. She looked further down and her eyes widened as she noticed that the boy's hand was resting on her belly, covered by a larger hand that reached around from behind her body. She turned her head and pressed backwards, feeling her husband's hard chest against her back. She sighed and closed her eyes, falling back into a peaceful dream.
She leaned back to wipe her eyes when the baby moved and surprised Charlie, whose arm was still touching her abdomen.
She felt her chest warm and all of the previous sad thoughts flew out of her head as she watched her father's face fill with awe and adoration. She reached out for his hand and placed it on top of her belly. When the baby moved again, his eyes flew up to hers and a wide smile broke out over his whole face.
"Wow, I haven't felt something like that in over twenty-five years. It's even more amazing this time, because it's a baby inside of my baby."
She leaned down and kissed his cheek. "I love you, Daddy," she whispered in his ear.
Charlie reached out and cupped her cheek, his eyes shining with unshed moisture. "I love you, too, Isabella. You are the best thing that I've ever done in my entire life."
Her eyes widened in a combination of excitement and surprise.
"Are you ready to join us?" she spoke to her stomach calmly, feeling the baby give a particularly hard kick, as if the baby was responding.
"Well, then, let's call Daddy."
"Okay, I think I have everything. I've got the bag, I've called Sue and Carlisle and Rose. Let me put this in the car and we're good to go."
She rushed past Bella and out the door. Two minutes later, Bella heard the car start and pull away. She let out a chuckle and picked up her cell phone, dialing Esme's number.
"Hello?" she answered, her voice still frazzled. "I'm sorry, sweetie, can I call you back? I'm in a bit of a rush to get Bella to the-" Esme cut off her rant abruptly and muttered a quiet, "Fuck."
"I'll be right there, Bella."
She would always strive to be her family's parachute, holding them close should they fall. She knew without a doubt that they would always be there for her as well.
They would always hit the ground, running.

People are going to get tired of hearing me say how much in awe I am of my readers and their giant hearts, but it's so very true! Teaser from Rabbit Heart Chapter 1:
The streets were eerily empty as the girl stealthily slipped out of the Beverly Hills house, although one could quite easily exchange the term mansion in its stead. Her shoulders were hunched as she made sure her hood was firmly covering her blond hair, her back laden with only an over-stuffed backpack and a guitar case. She needed to escape quickly, unseen, and today was the best time to make that happen. It was just after eleven pm, on Christmas Eve and there was practically no movement on Santa Monica Boulevard. She traveled on foot for almost three miles before coming across a cab running on the desolate streets.
She quickly stowed her meager possessions in the backseat before climbing inside.
"The nearest Greyhound station, please," she requested as softly as she could, but still within the driver's hearing range.
The older man glanced at her in the rear view mirror. If he thought anything was off about the way she kept her face hidden, he made no mention of it.
"Heading home for the holiday, sweetie?"
"Something like that," she murmured, staring out of the window and watching the lights pass by. They reached their destination in just under fifteen minutes and she handed him a $50 bill.

At first she had been so mesmerized by the feeling of his warm breath against her ear and neck that she hadn’t processed what he was saying. Then she looked down at herself and realized the front of her blouse was completely torn open revealing her camisole and corset. Gasping she sat straight up, no longer leaning against his arm for support and she fumbled with the torn pieces of her blouse, trying to hold it together.
Under her breath she whispered, “This is the most mortifying moment of my life,” and shyly glanced up at him.
The man chuckled again, giving her a lopsided smiled, and without a word he untucked his shirt from his trousers and proceeded to unbutton it. Now she sat there, mouth agape, as he pulled it off revealing a lean, muscled torso. She’d seen statues in museums her parents had taken her to, but this…this was true perfection and she felt a feeling the made her feel like jelly as she gazed as his bare skin.
“It could be cleaner,” he said, “but, it’ll just be for a while till we get you inside the house.” Without a word he tucked the shirt around her before his arms slipped under the crook of her knees and her back as he lifted her off the ground.

“Oh, before I forget, there’s a little kitten that Edward gave me last night. I didn’t know if it’d be all right to bring it into the house or not. Edward put him under a crate on the front porch so he wouldn’t run off again.”
“Oh, it’s fine, m’ija. Cats around here tend to be good at catching ratones. It’s been a while since we had one that came in and out of the house. It’ll be good to have one again. I’ll bring him in and give him some cream in a bit.”

Making her way out onto the front porch Bella sat down on the front steps to the porch, looking at the stars. They were so clear here compared to Chicago. After sitting there a while she heard someone clear their throat and she looked over to see Edward walking up to where she was sitting on the front steps.
“Evening, Bella.”
“Hello, Edward.”
“Mind if I join you?” he asked and waited till she nodded and moved over a bit before he sat next to her. “I, uh, found something for you.”
She turned and looked at him curiously and it was then that she noticed that he was carrying the small kitten she had seen in the barn that first day they met wiggling in his hands.
“Oh!” She leaned towards him to peer closer at the tiny black kitten with green eyes that was peering up at her. Edward carefully handed the kitten over. “I think he’s the same little fella you saw the other day.”
Taking the kitten she held it close and smiled as it snuggled up against her and started to purr. Grinning brightly at Edward she whispered, “Thank you, Edward.”
“You’re welcome, Bella. He seems to like you. What you going to name him?”
“Twilight. I think that’s a good name for a black cat.”
Edward chuckled and leaning over he scratched the top of the kitten’s head. “I think it suits him.”

“Uh…” Edward uttered, not exactly sure what to say at this point, so he just came out and said what was on his mind. “Who the flowers there for, Jas?”
Jasper turned pale and almost panicked as he looked around. It was as if he were looking for a means of escape. At that moment Carlisle came out of his office and Jasper thrust the bouquet into his hands, startling the good doctor.
“Here you go, doc!” Jasper said.
Carlisle blinked and said, “Um, yes. Well…thank you?” He seemed just as confused as Edward looked.
Nodding, Jasper turned and walked out again without another word.
Edward scratched the top of his head. “What was that about?”

My daughter, Sophie Charlie Swan was born the next evening after an eight hour labor. I had to be induced. I held her for hours and the nurses allowed her to stay with me overnight in a tiny handmade Moses basket. They gave me tiny donated clothing and I bathed and dressed her. She looked like me. I couldn’t even see any of James in her features at all.
Alice, Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie joined Charlie and my mom and Phil in Forks as we stood on La Push beach. Jacob came along too but he stood further back and just watched as we shared a sad moment as I emptied the tiny amount of ashes of my daughter into the ocean and watched her float away. My mom bit back sobs and released a pink foil balloon. Alice and Rosalie dropped pale pink roses into the water. Charlie was silent and didn’t let go of my hand.
I watched my family disperse and I looked out into the ocean and the setting sun.

I pay a quick visit to a florist and memorial store as there is something I would very much like to do for Bella. She has nothing to remind her of Sophie apart from her photographs and tiny hand and footprints she was given after her birth. I want to buy a memorial plaque with her name on it, so that Bella can lie it somewhere special. Perhaps down at La Push where she scattered her tiny daughters ashes. Somewhere where she can maybe sit and talk to her, and lay flowers.
I find the perfect item. It’s a small oval marble flat stone. You can get words and names carved. Its eight inches wide, by six inches high. Just the thing I am looking for. I really think Bella is going to love it.
I speak to the shop owner and explain what I would like.

Isabella was cut of her tirade by Maria's hand striking her cheek. It stung and she knew that there would be a red mark there for a few hours. She contemplated striking her back or taking her head and dragging it through the store window but decided against it. She didn't want to cause more of a scene than there already was. People were staring and gawking at them, including Renee and Charlotte. The latter looked as if she was the one slapped and she certainly was not pleased about it.
"I would strike you back Maria but once again I am going to prove to you that I won't stoop to your level." Isabella got extremely close to her cousin and leaned in toward her ear. "You're not better than me. But I am certainly better than you. I hope you and Alistair are very happy together." She began to walk away but once she got near her mother and aunt she turned at said. I don't think that you are wasting your time but you should really use spell check. It is a helpful tool. There are also online dictionaries that are available when needed. Proper spelling and grammar make the story better and easier to read.
Bella is nothing like Maria. Maria had sex with a man that was in a relationship with her own cousin. She is a dirty trollop. Bella had sex with the man she loved and intended to marry. I hope that Edward can convince her.

He noticed that his office door opened slowly, if not awkwardly, and a small head with blonde curls popped in. Kate smiled and giggled while Edward simply raised his eyebrows. He nodded and Kate hopped inside while leaving the door hang ajar. She placed herself on the floor, holding her rag doll Heidi, and began to play.
This was a common occurrence and Edward realized that he enjoyed the company that his ward provided. She was company but never distracted him from his work. A few moments passed before Carmen's voiced sounded in the hallway.
"Miss Kate!" Kate's eyes grew wide. She then hopped up from where she sat with her doll and bolted to where Edward was. She pushed his legs out of the way and hid underneath his desk. Edward found this action very humorous. He laughed causing Kate to give him an adorably sharp look as she pressed her pointer finger to her lips.
"Shhh." Kate breathed. A moment later, Carmen was standing in the doorway looking hassled.
"Mr. Cullen, have you seen Kate? She needs to practice her piano and she ran from the nursery when my back was turned." Carmen asked. Edward smiled slightly and just shrugged his shoulders.
"No, I haven't seen her." At that, Kate giggled. Edward shot her a look that said to be quiet, which only made her giggle harder. She was all smiles. Carmen cocked her head to the side and gave him a look of disbelief. She had heard Kate giggle.
"Really?"
"Really." Edward gave her the puppy dog eyes that made her narrow her eyes. She then mouthed ten minutes before walking off and into the hallway. He then pushed his chair farther away from his desk, held out his hands and Kate jumped into them and into his lap.

I stopped suddenly when I heard the faint sounds of crying coming from behind Isabella’s door. Oh no please tell me I didn’t do that to her. Oh Bella I'm sorry. I inched towards her door and listened closer to the sounds. I heard whispering and sobbing and shushing noises. I realized that Alice was in there with her and was trying to comfort her. I felt like a total ass. I made this lovely creature cry and why? Why did I do that? I made her feel unwelcome when I should have been happy to have her here to help. I knew it was getting harder on Jane; the extra hands would be beneficial. My Ma would have taken me by the ear if she had seen the way I treated Bella. I am determined that tomorrow I would be nice and try my best to make her feel welcome. I go to hand her the book as a peace offering. "Please feel free to read this if you like." I utter apologetically. As she takes the book from my grasp our fingers lightly touch and my hand starts to tingle.

Furious at what I have done, I throw the bottle against the wall and it smashes into a million pieces. There's glass covering the floor. I lay my head against the desk and I start to sob.

"Do you really think so? Can I be that man again?" he looks at me, eyes filled with hope.
"Yes I do. Take some time Edward, talk to Em and me if you need to. You need to realize that you are worthy of love and joy. You always were, I guess you just had to wait for the right person to enter your life and I think she has."
"God Alice I want to, I feel connected to her in some way. It sounds strange but it's like she was meant for me, I feel it."

I realize that I am trembling. That man makes me so uneasy. There is just something about the way he leers at me, I hope to never meet up with him alone. Edward turns and assesses me. He can see I'm visibly shaken.
"Miss Bella, I am so sorry if he frightened you. I know he makes you uncomfortable; I overheard you telling Alice the other day. I promise he won't ever harm you."
"Oh Edward he stares at me in such a way that I almost feel exposed. I am so afraid to be around him." I whimper.
Edward wraps his arms tenderly around me and whispers into my hair "Don’t worry Bella I'll keep you safe. Newton won't be around much longer, I’ll make sure of that."
Relief floods through me and I do feel protected in Edward's arms. I relax into his embrace not wanting him to let me go. I timidly look up; Edward has a worried expression on his face.
"Thank you Edward, I feel so much better now. I know I am safe when I'm with you." I breathily reply.
"I just… I wanted to ask you if you would allow me to talk to your brother tomorrow about properly courting you."
Edward moves closer and emphatically states. "Don't worry about Newton he will be gone by tomorrow. I promise to always make you feel safe and protected."
Today when Edward was with us in the stables I thought for sure he was going to expire the minute I mentioned leaving to start my own ranch. The horror is his eyes solidified what I knew all along. He cared for Bella and the thought of her leaving was torture for him to hear. I knew it was wrong but I goaded him a little with hopes he would get off his ass and just ask to court her already.
Edward was as stubborn as Bella and they both tended to over think things, theirs would be an interesting match.
Edward is now staring at Newton's crumpled form seething with anger. He kicks him sharply in the thigh. "Get up you son of a bitch. You are done, get the hell off our ranch and if you ever come back here I will kill you." Edward's eyes are blazing.
Edward grabs Newton by the throat and slams him into the wall. "If you come near Isabella or James I will end you. Don't push me…now get the fuck out of here while you still can." He lets go and Newton slips to the floor.
This was one hell of a night. I was glad to watch that scum Newton finally getting his, he has been nothing but trouble since the day he came.
