Nicely done.

Very exploicit, yes, but surprisingly classy.

Another dark chapter, much in the style of the Marquis de Sade, even with a little sarcasm. Not sure I'll want to use candles anymore. Not the big ones in any case.

I believe Savoy used to be this country between France and Italy in the 17th-18th century. Maybe Genoa was independent too.

Author's Response:

Yes, the borders between France and Italy were different at the time, but the Volturi's lands are touching the Mediterranean Sea. It's a place hard to imagine with the nowadays maps, not to mention that it never really existed...

Perhaps the flashback sequence could be exposed more like a "dream" sequence, which could be made up of bits of mermory Jsaper sees during his come. As it is, the sequence feels a little bit disconnected. We see where this is going at the end, but there could be hint when the sequence begins as well. What I mean is the sequence might be more efficient if we understand that it is built of Jasper's memories, instead of it reading like it is coming directly from the past.

Just a suggestion. Otherwise the story is very provocative. Not sure the terms "sexual predator" were in much use at the time...

Author's Response:

There's a limit to what I can do in terms of using the vocabulary that they used at the time. I want the readers to feel a connection with the story, too. As for your suggestion, it so happens that in an upcoming chapter, there will be another bit of Jasper's past recounted as a dream.

We see where this is going, at least in the short run. Young stable boy...

Custard has indeed been in European cuisine since the 14th century. It is not surprising then that they should be enjoying it in the story. It is of course unlikely that a French "duc" would have had "Newton" as a family name (too English). But then of course this would not be fanfic...

Author's Response:

I could have done like sheviking and "frencherize" the names, but I just decided to give them some nice nobility names with a French resounding. Don't forget that when I started this story, I didn't know I would translate it in English and my readership remains mostly French.

This Jacob must be an old erudite in disguise. I can hardly image how a young stable boy could know about such things without having read the Marquis de Sade, or having conquered dozens of young damsels before this one. He seems like the archetypal experienced/compassionate lover, a rare catch if anything!
