What if Edward did not take the dramatic route and wait till noon to step into the sun in Volterra? What if Alice and Bella were incapable of getting to him in time? What if he was not the only casualty of bad timing and misread visions?
This story takes us down an alternate path than what we followed in New Moon. The Cullen’s are no longer whole and Bella is so badly damaged that she may be unreachable as she closes herself off to the pain of the outside world.
Can a new love save her? Can his voice pull her from the darkness?
This story is rated NC-17 for major angst, suicide and the possibility of far off lemons (who am I kidding? If you have read any of my stories, you know there will be lemons…but not for a while).

Happy Birthday! I was getting a little panicked with the 'Esme' reference, but it was okay! I still miss her though. And Edward. But then we wouldn't have this story if they were still here! I felt sad for Carlisle when Jasper told him about Esme not being his true mate, but he took it well. I can still feel the sadness behind the love though, making this more believable. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the review. My one pre-reader always yells at me when I try to pull Esme and Edward back in. But I agree with you; it makes it more believable. If you lose someone, you don't just move forward and never think of them again. So thanks for seeing that and appreciating it.

I knew something was coming! I am surprised Carlisle left her so easily as he hasn't in the past if I remember correctly. But then Victoria wouldn't have got so close! Look forward to Thursday! Will she need to be changed or not? Hopefully we'll find out Thursday :)

You called it. I giggled when I read your last review knowing that this was on its way. And you are right, Carlisle always has a hard time leaving Bella. But nothing had happened to her up to this point and he figured he wouldn't be gone long and if he didn't hunt, he would be putting her in greater danger especially with a fresh cut.

Where do I start? I'm glad Rosalie played her part in saving Bella, it made me like her a little more! I'm also glad Carlisle didn't get to change her his way - but I can actually see him wanting to use his medical knowledge instead of being romantic lol. It was upsetting when Bella met Edward but didn't want to go with him; I did cry a little. Carlisle is so sweet, cleaning her instead of letting Alice do it. I can't wait to see how she comes out of it! See you next time!

Ahh, thanks for the fantastic review. I loved using Rosalie for part of the dismantling. She is one of my favorite characters in this story too. And I am so glad you liked Carlisle cleaning Bella. It just seems like his sort of thing to do.

"You took me and laid claim to me" - defo my fave quote! This was a really sweet chapter and despite how you feel it's well written with lots of feeling. I loved it! As to what could happen in the future? Mmmm, let me see - another run-in with the Denalis? Or a social visit from Aro which turns a bit angsty after he notices her gift and wants her to return to Italy with him? He could threaten to take her by force but Bella saves them all! I'll keep thinking!
