Yes, my vamps aren't canon. They shave & cut hair and nails, feel temperatures (although they tolerate them) and feel pain. They do not crumble like marble either. They aren't thoroughly 'dead'. You might say they are more like mutants, with new cells that each function like separate circulations. Ah, it's complicated. Ch44 on ffnet explains.
